Not only is the food wonderful but so is the family that runs it. They have such good stories to go with the good food - clearly have a true love for what they do !

Thanks for the help everyone - we typically are "fine dinners" (if you will) and never really do the whole BYOB thing. Im just trying to change it up a little bit and do something different. I'v been to a few of the mentioned places, just never really realized there was this small cluster of byob's in Lawrenceville so I was thinking to give it a try. I'll start checking into reviews for these places you mentioned !

Teresa's Cafe (italian) in Palmer Square will be open untill 11pm - I have never visited so you would have to check with other reviews - this is the link to the menu

Triumph Brewery will be definitely be open after 12am - nice place with good food, may not be a "after theatre" kind of place but if you enjoy a nice microbrew with good food pairings then this might work for you.

Scenic/Quality Party Location - NJ/PA
I agree with Avenue in Long Branch - beautiful location by the beach. Also, Rats in Hamilton, NJ (central jersey, outside Trenton) has beautiful gardens and views which is located on Grounds for Sculpture (google images rats restaurant nj for photos). Congrats and good luck !

Ultimately I am looking for a place to celebrate my anniversary. I would like to try a BYOB in the Hamilton/Lawrenceville/Princeton - I will be staying on RT 1 and would like to eat close by. Has anyone tried this place? Or know of another worth trying? Thanks !

Portofino's in Tinton Falls - a wonderful little Italian place with a lot of charm. The food is out of this world. I am very spoiled when it comes to Italian food, many of the dishes here are exactly like what I eat in Italy. They have a second floor for large parties. They have pictures you can view on their website .. dress code is generally casual. Post back if you decide to go here and let me know what you think !

Has anyone visited Di Mattia's in Allentown?
More and more often I am seeing ads for Di Mattia's Restaurant in Allentown. Has anyone been here yet? I also tried to research this place online in search of pictures, menus, detailed reviews, anything. No such luck .. does anyone have any input? Also, I am very spoiled when it comes to Italian food and tend to be very critical of those run-of-the-mill restaurants claiming to be "authentic italian". If this is one of those places, I'd rather not waste my time!
