Corned Beef & Cabbage, Crockpot, When to add Vegs+?

I cooked two flat corned beef in my crockpot today. I put it in and cooked it for 10 hours high and low. Then at about an hour and a half before eating I put my potatoes and carrots in and put the wedges of cabbage on top about a half our before eating. Then I disassemble by putting the vegetables each in their own dish with some of the juice and then I cut the brisket in slices (against the grain) then I put that in it's own dish with some juice from the crockpot. And serve. It turns out great. And any leftovers stay in the dishes in the fridge.
