Good GREEK food in N.E. Baltimore?

Anyone have any recommendations for something decent over this way? The trip down to East Baltimore isnt so bad, but thoughts on a mid-week carry-out or dining spot in the vein of Samos would be more than welcome! Thanks!

Where can I find great nachos in Baltimore?

I'm really surprised people mention Nacho Mama's- Last time I was there (albeit a while back) I WATCHED them open up plastic bags of chips and pour them into baskets.

Great Sage, Clarkesville - Updates?

Pleased to say that our dining experience over the weekend was VASTLY different than what we've experienced in the past . Our server was on top of every little detail, and we were visited not only once, but TWICE by the manager during (and at the end of) our meal. Aside from the great food, it was nice to see staff that seemed to pay attention to their customers....
I'd love to think that any problems with a cohesive wait and kitchen staff is behind them- judging by the packed room, it seemed like they were firing on all cylinders....

Recommended Chinese Restaurants- Hamilton/NE Balt. area?

Has anyone got recomendations for good Chinese carry-outs in the Hamilton/ NE Baltimore area? Without sounding snobby, I'm hoping to find something other than the typical "pamphlet on your front door" hole in the wall that have the same menus as all others.

Maybe there's a good restaurant nearby with an extensive, quality menu that offers carry-out? If so, I havent found it, and would love some recommendations....

Happy and Sad-Brasserie Tatin

Ah yes...a find indeed. They serve possibly the best mussels "appetizer" in town. Honestly, large enough to be an entree, with fresh tarragon, garlic, shallots & vermouth. Oddly enough, they're also served with crispy French fries, and bread for dipping!
Just thinking about them makes me want to schedule another visit!

Kitchen of India on Joppa Road under new ownership

Lets hope it stay that way- I recently discovered that place, and noted how great a value it was! Really a pleasant surprise in the neighborhood....

New restaurant in Sputnik location?

hmmmm- well, I'll wait it out and see what more is said. It had been a special occasion spot for me, and was always nice to sit on a quiet patio having dinner. With a name like Lures, I'd like to think there'd be a greater nod to seafood than whats mentioned, and can only hope that the menu expands, before making the trek....

New restaurant in Sputnik location?

Would anyone know if anything new took over this space in Crownsville?
Aside from being a great little place to dine, one of their best features was dining in the backyard....Would love to know if something has moved in since....Just don't live near enough to drop by.....

B'more Hamilton dinner and good beer

Drove by Clementine's this morning- Its actually directly across from the CVS Pharmacy. Cant really tell much by the inside, as its under construction, but the signs are up.
It would be great to see more new things like this- we NEED new options out here!

Corking fee? [moved from DC/Baltimore board]

Hey, can someone help explain this fee for me?
My girlfriend and I went out to a Baltimore retauraunt and had this applied to our check. It was explained to us that its for the "service of opening the bottle, pouring the wine etc."
If thats the case I can understand it if we dont stay around longer, finish it there and order more food (though if it were a Friday or Saturday night I think they'd WANT the table to turn over....) but this particular place is in the midst of getting their liquor license and it's BYOB at the moment (meaning I ran out and bought a bottle nearby after being seated.)

I think if I ran out and bought the wine, being charged to cork it and take it home with me didnt seem fair (and honestly, we were only going to get a glass- not planning on a bottle) and when questioned, it was removed. I dont disagree with the policy, but I just wanted some clarification as to what the charge really is?
Thanks!

Good Eats in Ocean City Maryland?

While we're at it- can anyone recommend HEALTHY eats in O.C? Vegetarian and (gasp!) Gluten Free fine diner, having a seriously hard time finding anything outside of a grocery store salad bar out there. Is there a single veggie burger at the beach to be found anywhere?!

Great Sage - recent experiences, anyone?

We went a few weeks ago actually-
We like it a lot- only once last year we had an issue where our appetizer showed up after we actually FINISHED our entrees, but since, we thought everything has been fine.
But this last time, we ate outside, and in the course of our meal, the table next to us (who were already there when we were seated) literally didnt see food until we had finished appetizers, entree and desert! (which by the way, for the first time ever, their lava cake actually tasted "off"- just not as good as the MANY past orderings...)
I dont know what kept them sitting there- I couldnt believe it and actually felt really guilty. At some point the waiter literally just avoided coming outside at all to them. They flagged down a manager and got the coldest, most non-chalant reaction I'd ever heard. The food finally came out in to-go boxes (per their request) and they were STILL charged for them. That started the last argument we stuck around to hear....

Food is great- location could be better, but after reading so many posts here I really hope they can fine-tune this...I love eating there.
