Searching for Good Thai

I like P.S. Bangkok in Lakeview its kind of a ways away for you in Wicker Park but its reasonably priced and authentic. The curry is spicy the way it should it. Unlike some places that say its spicy and its not even close to anything remotely hot.

BBQ on Public Transit

sucky smoke daddy wasn't that great, I really enjoyed their sides more while i was there. I didn't think their sauce was that bad and I've had plenty of sauces. But I can't really find the Texan BBQ in Chicago. When I say I want a baked potato; I want a baked potato with brisket and BBQ sauce all over it. I want the shack like Texan cafeteria line BBQ service. But hey with deal with what available. I would love to try SMOQUE, I don't know about waiting in line outside just to eat though that isn't fun and its not close to public transportation.

BBQ on Public Transit

I second Smoke Daddy's. Rachel Ray recommended it and as a former Texan the BBQ is pretty up to par. the corn bread is to die for.

The portions they serve you are pretty big; I think you can probably do it family style if all you guys are going to want to taste each other foods. I walked out of there wishing I had elastic pants on.

nice dinner recommendation in Lakeview

Home Bistro is pretty good its down the street from Jack's. The menu online probably is not accurate; it changes according to what is in season

lemon in ice water

I lived in Houston for most of my life and recently moved to Chicago. I have seen plenty of placed in Houston add a lemon slice do their water. The lemon taste cuts out the tap water taste in Houston at least. I do not think its a regional phenomenon

where to eat on Argyle

Well this is how you are supposed to eat them. crepe, bean spourts, wrapped in the lettuce and mint, basil and dipped into the fish sauce. Personally I've never eaten the dish at tank noodle. I only eat it when my mom makes it for me.

Texas - breakout the cities

I believe that Houston and Dallas should be added as individual cities under the Southwest board. They are very large populous areas that have established restaurants. Why should they be lumped together?

Houston has many different cuisines and cultures all throughout the city. It is not just a BBQ place. The Vietnamese food there is some of the best in the country. Fine dining steak houses and small avant-garde like tapas places can be found in Houston.

Dallas is a sprawling city that has some great places to eat. Many Asian-Fusion places can be found there. Restaurants like Abacus and Charlie Palmer. Also some of the best steak houses in the country are in The DFW area.

Please break these 2 cities out. Austin has been broken out on its own; and its like half the size but 10 times the hype of either of these cities.

Houston help

Try Azuma (sushi) on Main its attached to the building that houses the Rice Lofts.
Zeros is a small sandwich shop but its great!

I feel like downtown Houston is small but you may want to cab it to where Cabo is - good Tex-Mex or take the hotel shuttle to the original Ninfa's off Navigation Rd. (they invented fatijas)

A great beer menu - try Flying Saucer 100+ beers great atmosphere.

where to eat on Argyle

I have to recommend Tank Noodle also. You should give anything they have clay pot style a try or the Vietnamese "Crepe"; there.

Unless you need to hit up a Vietnamese grocery store or a one of those chinese bakeries there isn't much hanging around to do.
