I'd like recommendations for a Ladies Lunch spot in the Sarasota area. Good food a must with some nice atmosphere. High end is fine.

We love Inan Thai on 41 near the Phillppi Estate.

We like Herman's on Shamrock in Venice for beef, pork, chicken and turkey. They make their own Italian sausage....yummmmmm!

I'm on a strict Gluten Free diet. It's vital I know what I'm eating. I would not trust this restaurant.

I thought bonefish was decent.....but i really like seasons 52.....

When I lived in Northern California I shopped at both Trader Joe's and Costco. The chicken at Costco is very good and Gluten Free. Also, they offer higher quality merchandise then Sam's Club. Trader Joe's has excellent fresh meats, bakery items and cheeses.Lots of interesting items that I can not find in Florida. Can't wait to shop!!!!

I live in Venice, where do I buy this local produce? I bought a cantaloupe at Publix last week and threw it out.....it was mushy and tasteless!

We had lunch at Thai Spice today to answer my own thread......
it was very good. my fresh basil rolls with peanut sauce were excellent as was my vegetable pad thai. my partner had chicken curry and liked it. neither of us liked the soup. it was a gelatinous rice soup.... the flavor was okay but the texture was off-putting. we would go again but prefer the Isan Thai in sarasota.

Has anyone dined at Thai Spice in Venice?

We had a lovely lunch today at the new Isan Thai in Sarasota. The crab rangoon and Fresh Spring Rolls were good choices for starters. I had the salad which was fresh with a pleasing dressing without oil. The Pad Thai was delicious and the Panang Curry was yummy and generous with pork and veggies. We will be back. Service was grand.......restaurant was quiet which is such a treat (we hate the music usually played in local restaurants).

Mother of four......we were sitting at a table next to the open doors facing the sidewalk....we were early so perhaps our experience was unique. I have Celiac disease, any restaurant that can serve me a decent tasting meal I consider exceptional. Libby's and Derek's are both wonderfully helpful. Your posting is noted and I'll consider it the next time I plan to to Libby's.

Last month I had lunch with three others at Libby's. It was fairly quiet and the food was excellent.
Thailand on Gulf Gate has quiet booths.

In February I tried the Seasons 52 restaurant in Altamonte Springs. It was very good. An interesting concept for a "chain" restaurant. Has anyone heard if one is due for the Sarasota area?

My partner and I had a lunch at Bit of Boston a few months ago;.........the clam chowder was from a can.......the lobster roll was nasty. We will never go there again.

We had such great hope for this restaurant. It was recommended not only by chowhound but a neighbor who grew up in Southern India. Sadly, it's horrid. Our first lunch was "good" with mediocre service. The second lunch was so bad we hated to pay for it. Did anyone have a better experience at dinner?

I'm meeting a friend in the FM/CC area for lunch this week. We will want a long leisurely meal with lots of veggie choices.

We have been to Zeke's twice and loved it. The crabcakes and tacos are very good. We haven't been back because I'm now on a gluten free diet and their menu is not compatible. We may try it again when it cools off.
