Most restaurants are mobbed durning those months, so we usually don't go without a reservation. You came at a great time as long as you mind the heat and humidity.

Too bad, was looking forward to a Chowhound dinner there when we all get back! Guess not! It doesn't seem they have been there long enough to go from good to terrible, oh well on to bigger and better.

There is a concession stand at the beach. Have no clue how the food is, but with small children it would be great. Have a wonderful vacation and enjoy our beautiful beach.

"mussels themselves were a little “off” tasting; neither of us cared for the honey-mustard sauce ; Less enthusiastic about the accompaniments but they were certainly satisfactory; For dessert we shared the banana bread pudding. I’m not sure if they used green bananas or some other type that I’m not familiar with. They had a mealy texture and little taste. Neither us of liked this dish at all."
And your going back????? Honestly we have a lot of very good restaurants that you should go back to, but that doesn't sound like one I would rush back to. Sure hope your other experiences were better.
Do I need these knives?
I think what you have is fine, particularly because you are happy with them.. You might look into a serated utility knife...that along with my 8" chefs knife is my most used knife in the block. I would go to a restaurant supply store and pick up an inexpensive bread knife which does a lot more then slice bread...tomatoes,cakes,etc. Most important is to make sure that all of your knives are sharp.

Breach of restaurant etiquette? Goodness, where did you ever hear that? We do it as a couple all the time and when I go out with women we do it every time. Everyone is much more comfortable ordering what they want and as much as they want.

It's to the point where it's just not the same FN that it used to be Have no desire to watch any of their new shows. Still watch Barefoot C and Anne Burrell and that's about it.
Good lunch restaurants in Sarsota FL where it is easy to hear
Please don't recommend Libby's to anyone with hearing problems. I was there about three weeks ago for lunch. Arrived at noon, everything was fine, by 12:45 we had to leave as the noise level was unreal...neither one of us have any problems with hearing. Food is quite good..but!!!

If you go on a Sat. the Korean market makes fresh sushi. OLL has sandwiches and also Quiche, Small Batch has soup and sandwiches. I'm not a big lunch person so maybe someone else could chime in. There is a sushi restaurant there, not sure if they are open for lunch.

Only had them the one time, but I liked them...just not her!!! I don't like the big fat ones. The small batch one was good but not worth the price, but his bread is wonderful.. OLL does not have bagels and no way would she snatch anything from anyone...she is a doll! Try the L&B, maybe you will find her in a good mood!! LOL!

Yes a smile on either side can certainly help, but unfortunately I had the same experience as what suzigir heardl. All I did was go in for some of their flat bagels and the wife was very unpleasant. Not exactly a good temperament for someone who is dealing with the public...haven't been back since.

My favorite are called Cat Head Biscuits from Cooks Illustrated. Easy and come out great every time.

Yes it was Pad Thai. We were just there a few weeks ago. It moved to the new location last year, is that what you are talking about? It used to be near K Mart now it's in the mall in back of it. Never noticed the name change...the new place is quite a bit nicer. Unfortunately, good Chinese does not exist in Sarasota.
