there was alot more damage inside then expected, years of cover over. the appearance of the exterior not not show how neglected the inside had been. All was and has been repaired right down to the rotted floor joices. I've seen the interior the original dining room was all repaired and kept with the original look along with the bar. Fireplaces are still there to give that cozy and quaint ambience. The lower banquet and dining room has been totally revamped with a new look. thos was the room with the most water damage. the leakage in the building was so bad that the previous owners had 5 gallon buckets in the attic avery 5 feet or so collecting water. it was amazing how they ever stayed open. A all new equipped kitchen has been put in. along with a new well, and septic to accomadate the new place. this is what has taken so long to to open. piece by piece every effort was made to restore, replace and redo a building that has been totally neglected over the years. the new owners hope to be here long term. They are now waiting for final determination by the town for an over head 24' hood that is in the kitchen. this is holding up the opening. everything else is in place including the tables are set tablecloths and all. awaiting final approvals.

due to the high winds and storms the sign did not last long, it was put up to detour people who were stopping asking all kinds of questions while work was trying to be done on the inside. unfortunately it attracted all the salesmen.

oops not open yet, more damage than expected on the inside, which needs to be fixed. plus the digging of a new well and other things that need to be updated. it is being worked on and will still be reopening.

the oyster cabin should be open in about 3 weeks pending all approvals and sign off by the tooown. the new name is "IronStones Tavern"

yes those are rumors. no chain is opening this. an independent restaurant owner will be reopening it. Back to a family oriented restaurant with everything from hamburgers to fillet mignon, seafood, italian ect... and affordable nothing like it was recently.

if your looking for the best breakfast in the blackstone valley. It's at mom's restaurant in Uxbridge, ma, right on route 122. The have the biggest breakfast menu I've ever seen I hops new stuffed crepes have nothing on Mom's who have been doing specialty crepes for over a year. They have every kind of pancake& waffles. You can have any combo with fruits, choco chips, peanut butter just to name a few. Egg scramblers, stuffed french toasts
omlets of every kind, breakfast sandwiches, monte cristos. steaks, kielbasa hash, ham, bacon, lobster. And it dosen't stop there. They also serve lunch. Stop by and try it out. But expect to wait. It is very decieving you think theres only one dining room when yoiu walk in but there are two more temporary dining rooms in the back. The plan is to open the whole place up and move the kitchen backwards so all the dining is visible. If you know the history this place started aas a coffee and donut shop and just grew. It has fantastic food and great waitresses.

The best Breakfast and lunch I've been to is Mom's Restautant, located on route 122 in Uxbridge Mass. They have a variety of breakfast specialties which are served all day long....From simple eggs and homefries to waffles, pancakes, and fruit stuffed french toast. Steaks, buscuits and gravy and a choice of 20 different ingredients to make your own omlettes. Of course don't forget the daily special board which has a variety of unusual breakfast choices, like banana split crepes, the country sampler, which is a fruit dish, 2 eggs, homefries, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, toast and choice of 2 pancakes or french toast. (very very filling) These are just samples which should round out the offerings for breakfast. There are plenty more choices. Something for everyone.
Lunch is a line up of Clubs, Burgers, roll-ups, hot and cold sandwiches, seafoods, homemade soups and chowders. Oh and don't forget Hearty homemade lunches like meatloaf, stuffed cranberry chicken all served with mashed ,veg gravy and salad. How about good old fashion shepherds pie, franks and beans, pasta dishes and a mixture of various salads like Chicken fiesta Salad.... ummmm this is a mix of various greens, peapods, mandarin oranges, dried cranberries, and chopped walnuts topped with grilled chicken breast finish it off with your choice of dressing. They are open every day including holidays 365 days a year from 6 am to 3 pm. They take call aheads and reservations for parties of 6 or more. I do recommend you call do to the popularity of this place it is pretty busy and bigger than it looks. I has other hidden dining rooms you don't see when you walk in the front door.
