What happened to the Auld Dubliner?

Yesterday stopped by the Pub on Northern/101 and it was closed... Signs gone and doors locked. Peered through the window, furniture gone and liquor shelves bare. This was a fun place to stop by for a pint, a snack and some good music. Does anyone know what happened?

Help a transplanted DC 'Hound find some good food!

Got out here from Washington DC about a month ago, and I'm still looking for some great local spots. Not chains, just the legit, maybe greasy, maybe mom and pop, local places. Here's what I'd like to find:

Cuban
Greek/Mediterranean (tapas, gyros, schwarma)
Subs (big, greasy, Philly or Chicago style)
Mexican (Quick, maybe drive-thru. I liked Carolina's and Los Favoritos, didn't like Los Betos)

I tried this last week without much luck, figured I'd give it another shot. I'm willing to drive anywhere in the Valley. Help, I'm starving!

New in Town... Great West Valley Food?

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. Any other ideas would be much appreciated! So far my stomach is grumbling about the food in AZ...

Favorite Italian / Pizza places In Tucson.

Two of my favs, both in the UA area, are No Anchovies and Zachary's. No Anchovies serves an eclectic 'gourmet' mix of thin crust pies by the slice (think bbq chicken, hot wing w/ blue cheese, artichoke/sliced mozzarella/pesto, etc). Order at the counter and watch for your slice, they don't call it out. Very good beer selection on tap, nice patio.

Zachary's is deep-dish Chicago style. Pies can take 30-45 minutes, but are well worth the wait. 2 slices are usually more than enough, so expect leftovers. Nice beer selection that changes seasonally.

Tucson on Sunday night?.

Sullivan's does a great happy hour on Sundays, from open (I think 4pm) until close (usually around midnight or 1, depending on the crowd). The bar menu and specialty martinis are all $5 (normal prices $8-$12). Also usually a red and white wine b.t.g. for $5. The sliced tavern steak with mushrooms and spinach is good. For drinks, try the strawberry blonde or the knockout. And they have live jazz too. Nice patio with fireplace and misters. Its on River and Campbell, about 5 miles north of UofA.

New in Town... Great West Valley Food?

I'm new in town from Washington DC, looking for some great food in the West Valley (or really, anywhere). Nothing fancy, just the local spots. I'm talking greasy, mom and pop, neighborhood joints, not chains. A few things I'm trying to find: fast Mexican (had los favoritos, loved it!), Cuban, Greek/Mediterranean, and a Sub shop (big, greasy Philly/East Coast style). Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated!

PHX Los Betos, Filibertos, et al. - What's Good, Not?

I'm a big fan of favoritos (75th/glendale location). Everything there is great, I usually go with carnitas. Never cared much for los betos, filibertos isn't bad. Any recommendations for other great spots in the west valley?
