Honeymoon in NYC

Thanks the recommendations. Is there any restaurants you suggest for circa $100-150 food?

Honeymoon in NYC

Kathryn, thanks for reply. Not sure of budget as we're on our honeymoon. When we went to Eleven Madison Park 3 years ago it was $95 for 3 courses, which is what I was thinking now. It will be our last supper so happy to throw money at it.

Honeymoon in NYC

As part of our honeymoon we're travelling to NYC for three nights at the beginning of October. We want to catch some good food and drinks. We're proper British foodies and will eat and drink anything. We would be grateful if people could give us some recommendations - we're staying in SoHo. Thanks to the board I was lucky to sample Eleven Madison Park, Flatiron Lounge and the Pegu Club last time I was there 3 years ago. Would love some decent steak (Keens?) and some more speakeasy action. Dan

Honeymoon in Miami

As part of our honeymoon we're travelling to SoBe for a week at the end of September. We want to catch some good music, food and drinks. We're proper British foodies and will eat anything, especially if it's a local dish. We would be grateful if people could give us some recommendations for music, food and drinks whilst we are there. Also happy hour recommendations too. We're staying at the bottom end of South Beach. Thanks for you time. Dan

New Request - Englishman in New York

Thank you all for your suggestions in my original post (http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/693279) especially the cocktail lounges - we're going to be very drunk!!!

Having a look at the restaurants suggested (Gramercy, EMP, River Cafe) I think I need to downgrade slightly (my girlfriend isn't as much of a food snob as me!). My requirements are modern american cuisine, relaxed environment, casual dress (shoes, but jeans allowed) and priced at $200ish all in.

Can any reccomend good mexican, burger (shake shack?) and chinese cheap/reasonable eats?

Thanks very much Dan

Englishman in New York...for girlfriend's 30th

As the title suggests we're in New York for her 30th. We're Londoners and have enjoyed lots of excellent restaurants in London - Gordon (Chef) Ramsey at Claridges, Locanda Locatellis, Le Gavroche, etc. Would you be able to reccomend a good restaurant for dinner on the Saturday of our stay (10 April). We have been reccomended Gramercy Tavern but the comments on here suggest that maybe in isn't worth the $86 prix fixe and could be a disappointment. I need to book in the next few days to avoid disappointment. Ideally the cuisine should be comtemporary american and the check can be upto $250 for 2 courses, wine and service.

On a cheesier note; we've been enjoying the TV seies Mad Men recently; could anyone recommend an old school cocktail lounge? Or a traditional Speakeasy?

Thanks

Dan
