OK. We will probably picnic at Versailles and have dinner back in Paris. We are staying in a small hotel in Rue San Dominique, Hotel Thoumieux. Has anyone eaten in either of the restaurants there?

Thankyou Ptipois. On our daytrips in Bordeaux we are in the hands of personal guides. I will put your recommendation to him. At this stage he has just said lunch in Margaux or Saint-Julien. Are these near Arcins? We will be visiting Chateau Cantanec Brown, Chateau Pontet Canet, and Chateau La Grange. As it will be 2 Jan, we are told, not may are open.

We are coming to New York for 4 nights from Thursday 7 October. It is a spur of the moment thing. My husband has not been to NY before and I spent 4 days there in Feb with nonfoody friends. So this time we want to do it right. We want to experience the best of what this great city has to offer. Obviously many of the places may be booked out. Suggestions for both high end and great value meals would be welcomed. We are from Australia so want to make the most of our time. We are staying at the Library Hotel 299 Madison Ave.

We will be spending one night in Barcelona (22 April - a Thursday - my birthday!) in transit from Munich to Morocco. Any suggestions as to an essential Catalan experience dinner would be appreciated.
