best dry pasta

Yes I was, but what has happened to Latini? Seems that it's not available anywhere. I wasn't that impressed with DelVerde or all of Rustichella d'Abruzzo--some of it seemed gummy, even though I always start tasting about 3 minutes early on all pasta.

June 2014 COTM - My Paris Kitchen: Appetizers (Mis-en bouche)

Don't you mean "Amuse Bouche" That's the little appetizers.
Maybe you have it mixed up with "Mise en Place?"

best dry pasta

I remember a discussion about the best dry pasta. What was the conclusion? Any votes for Setero?

3 hour layover at DFW--BBQ?

Probably can't get out of the airport and back in three hours.
Dallas is not barbecue country anyway.

Free range Halal chicken in Fort Worth

There are three Walmarts (believe it or not) in Fort Worth that carry not just free range chicken but Halal chicken. There is a store on west Vickery, one on Meadowbrook and one in north FTW near Basswood.
Good chicken.

Wolf Brand Chili Clone

PS If you're going to make your own chili, don't use ground meat. Use chuck steak cut up small and cook it a long time. And if you don't want to make your own chile spices, you'll have to experiment with the bottled kind because they're all different. I prefer Gebhardt's but it's not available everywhere. It always looks ridiculous to me when recipes are so careful about ingredients and then just say "chile powder."

Wolf Brand Chili Clone

I had some Wolf brand tonight and it no longer tastes the same. I don't know what Con Agra did to it, but it was very bland and nothing like what it used to taste like. I wonder if Gebhardts still makes chili?
