I can’t pick just one. In no particular order: 1. French Laundry, Napa – February, 2006. No one dish stands out, but a great dining experience start to finish. 2. Veritas, NYC – 2005. Best short ribs dish I’ve ever had, and I had a dessert wine from Hungry that I have not had since but can’t forget. 3. Vecchia Roma, Rome, Italy – April, 2003. Deep fried artichokes, spinach risotto with crispy fried porcini mushrooms, and orange tiramisu. 4. Le Bernardin, NYC – 2007. The sommelier paired a different cocktail with each course. 5. Clinton St. Baking Co., NYC – 2005. I never knew pancakes could be this good.
My favorite comfort food:
Calzone with Breaded Eggplant, Spinach, Pine Nuts, and Black Olives from Gianna’s Jr. in Philly
