Hong Kong style French Toast in downtown Toronto Sorry... Not HK style, but The Pickle Barrel used to do a deep fried Challah "brick" French toast, that was quite good. Haven't been to one in years due to the generally average (or below) food, but it might be worth a shot for this one item. |

Where to take wife for 10th anniversary in Toronto well perhaps the OP is looking for an 11th Anniversary dinner place? LOL |

prima... Is Pazzo Bakery still next door to Pazzo? Enjoyed their picnic-to-go. Especially the Blue Cheese Coleslaw. YUM! |

Vintage Toronto Restaurant Photos Love this!!! Many great memories of growing up (and eating, of course) in T.O. |

What to order when "forced" to eat at chain/non-Chow worthy restaurants? Advice and finds... Like I said, it was ok. Certainly would have preferred to try that Japanese beef cooked on a hot rock at Kingyo though... |

In fairness, California at Sheppard/Chesswood had some issues (or at least one particular incident) as well (well documented in the press) Love their sandwiches, though... |

They catered my wedding many years ago. Food was good, but expensive. Last trip to the resto was quite a while ago, and it was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. |

Commisso's sandwich doesn't compare to California, IMO, but late night it's a good option. I think they are open 24 hrs. I can remember some very late night eats there. Just be careful who's car you lean on. LOL |

Well justxpete, it's been a couple of years. Actually, it's probably more like 5 or 6. I just saw lots of Pho recommendations and was grasping for something non-asian. That being said, I don't believe there's been any ownership change... My go to for Pizza/Italian in that (general) area would be Camarra's (Lawrence & Dufferin) |
Not sure if it's still there (or even any good anymore...) but Mastro's Ristorante on Wilson Ave. (between Keele and Dufferin) used to make a heck of a delicious pizza pie... |

What to order when "forced" to eat at chain/non-Chow worthy restaurants? Advice and finds... Had a similar dilemma this past weekend... Wound up at the Keg Mansion. Oh well. |

Sat night dinner - Jarvis/Wellesley area? Thanks to all for the suggestions so far... T.O. Jo and child re: Kingyo... any recommendations re: their menu? |

Sat night dinner - Jarvis/Wellesley area? Fellow Hounds... looking for a casual, tasty spot for dinner with the folks this Sat. night. Any cuisine works as long as it is not "deep fried" as they are "sort of" health conscious (LOL) Willing to do a short drive... Any suggestions? |

Welcoming Surprise - Decent and Authentic Mexicam Food in Richmond Hill!! wow... CHers insulting Moms... and a week before Mother's Day. |

no comment on the meat (which I have yet to try) but that is the smallest sandwich I have ever seen in a Jewish deli! |

Where is good BBQ food in Toronto? perhaps the OP is referring to "beef" as in brisket, as opposed to steak? |
No issue at my local Sobey's in KW. Can any Nathan's fans advise any difference (or preference) between the "standard"(?) and the "bigger than the bun" versions? aside from the obvious size/count difference... |

you might want to show him this week's flyer... 2/$7.00 |

hmmm... sounds good! (not sure deep fried kishka would work...LOL) |
CRISPY kishka? really? like deep fried? |

Best chocolate cake (from a bakery) in Toronto, 2013 Phipps bakery. Mom's Chocolate layer cake. classic. |

Generally don't bother with Ribfests as I have found the product to be sub-par. Agree with others that it's more about the atmosphere and fun. That being said, if you just love ribs, try the Steak Pit on Avenue Rd. Their "Mexican style" (just BBQ sauce, really - LOL) ribs are truly great. (even after all these years...) Yes, I know it's old school and we have a couple of GREAT rib options (Hogtails BBQ!) out this way, but Steak Pit baby backs are STILL the some of the best ribs to be found anywhere, IMO and always worth a drive into T.O. for me. |

Great Pizza Delivery in North York? It's been a while, but Maestro's on Wilson west of Dufferin used to make a pretty good pie... |
Cynthia's chinese food in Thornhill My Mom's favorite spot. I found it just ok. Would agree with previous postings re: somewhat expensive. |

Somewhere fun for dinner within 90 min of Toronto Re: Camp 31, if you're looking for BBQ and willing to travel as far as Paris, you might consider Hogtails BBQ (or the larger sister location - The Lancaster Smokehouse) in KW. Much better BBQ IMO, and while I prefer Hogtails for food (similar but it seems less rushed) the Lanc has live music on Sat nights so it might be more "fun". Be prepared for a 1 hour + wait though... |

Rogues! (if you can still get a table) |

just back yesterday, but my trips tend to be a "junkfest" rather than anything approaching "gourmet", so with that in mind: Sahlen's Hotdogs (a Buffalo fave for years) Plus if you're an OREO fan, the array of flavours is getting ridiculous (good?) choc creme, peanut butter, golden w/ choc creme, neopolitan triple creme, mint, etc. plus the new Oreo Fudge creme (available in Canada) but new U.S. flavors choc and mint (tried the choc) just writing this is making me think about getting on the treadmill... |

Where would you take a New York foodie for lunch on a Saturday in North York? Camarra's for old school Italian/Pizza? ...just S. of Yorkdale (Lawrence) on Dufferin. Sure there's plenty of great Italian in NYC, but Camarra's Pizza is probably quite a bit of a change from typical NYC pies (and tasty too!) |
