Andreoli Italian Grocer - if you do baccala, tripe, and sfogliatelle this well you can consider me a fan.

How does one find about this every year? They don't have an email list.

Chef Peter DeRuvo Leaves Cuoco Pazzo

Guess what chowhounders - Cuoco Pazzo has closed! I don't know when, I went to their website to look at their menu and it says Welcome to T. Roosevelt's Tavern. I called to see what was going on and the number has been disconnected. Bummer.

Love reading your reviews uhockey, totally agree with your Pomo review and it reminds me to go there more often. I eat so much and rarely , if ever, have dessert so I can keep my weight where I want it, but I just may have to make an exception to the rule and try the millefoglie.
By the way, when Howard Seftel retires from his post as the Arizona Republic's food critic, you should apply for the job!

Cooking classes: worth it?

Thai Gourmet House offers individualized, private instruction as well as group classes. I cannot recommend it enough! It is run by Praparat Sturlin, a world-class Thai chef in her beautiful commercial kitchen in her home.
My husband and I had a day-long cooking lesson from her a few years ago, and it was one of the best cooking classes we ever attended. We still talk about it.
It is expensive, but contact her to see if you can work something out for you. The food is out of this world and it she makes it fun and educational. Here's the website: www.thaigourmethouse.com

Quiet restaurant for a celebration, near Gainey Suites Hotel in Scottsdale (N. Scottsdale and E. Doubletree)

I second the recommendation of Un Bacio. It is very quiet, wonderful ambiance and the food is delicious. It is also just down the street from your hotel.

Coppa for lunch

After reading all the great reviews of Coppa here, my husband and I thought we'd try it for lunch when we visit in October (we don't want to wait in line or eat too early/late).

We really want to try the pastas. but don't see any of them on the menu on their website.
Does anyone know if you can get pasta for lunch there?

Walking distance from Lenox Hotel Back Bay

We love Italian and also love seafood. Pricewise, we probably wouldn't want to spend over $200 with taxes and tip.

Walking distance from Lenox Hotel Back Bay

My husband and I will be in Boston for a few days in October, staying in the Lenox Hotel in the Back Bay area. Any suggestions for places to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a drink around that area? We will be going out of the immediate area to try Neptune Oyster and Coppa, but just checking here for any other ideas.
We're open to all types of food and atmospheres and I know my husband will want to go to at least one pub while we are there.

Ten Tables - worth the drive?

My husband and I will be visiting Boston for two days in October. We plan on eating lunch or dinner at Coppa, Erbaluce and Neptune Oyster based on the recommendations of this board.
We'll be staying in the Back Bay area - is Ten Tables worth a drive?

Scottsdale - North of the 101

We used to live in the Troon area and just recently moved.
Nick's, at the Southeast corner of Pinnacle Peak and Pima Rd. has good Italian food, very reasonably priced. Pane E Vino at the La Mirada shopping center (where Walgreen's is) has good food, (excellent mushroom risotto), but it is pricy and the noise level can be somewhat high. Bistro Provence in the same shopping center has excellent Coq au Vin and other dishes. Eddie V's at DC Ranch is good for seafood, they also have a good happy hour which goes all night in the summer.
Enjoy!

Review: El Chorro Lodge (Paradise Valley, AZ)

We have been to the "new" El Charro and this review is spot on. The food is ... almost airline food like, the view is great, and if you get there by 4:30 p.m. you can watch the 70 year olds bring their parents out for happy hour.

What is the single best restaurant in Phoenix?

I have been to Binkley's three times. The flavors are very good, but if you are hungry plan on eating a lot of bread. Oh, and bring your wallet. What is better? Lon's, T.Cook's, Noca, Rancho Pinot.

Cafe Monarch (Scottsdale)

My husband and I have been there for lunch twice and dinner once. We just love it! He makes a gourmet BLT with fresh dates that is to die for. I would highly recommend it. And yes, the Circle K next door has a wonderful wine selection. Try it, you'll like it!

For "non-gourmet" type pizza, Rosario's is wonderful! Their thin crispy crust is really good!

Looking for Best Pizza in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area

My husband and I went to Pomo and had a wonderful experience. I also thought the same thing - the crust was too soft for the topping and remarked on that to my husband. The owner happen to overhear me and sat down and explained to us that authentic Neapolitan pizza has that kind of crust. When I realized it was SUPPOSED to be like that, it was fine! He also brought over a pizza marguerita for us to try (free of charge) and was gracious in every way. They have since added some language on their menu to explain the crust. The ingredients are fresh and outstanding.

Caterer Recommendations?

Hello,
I am having a brunch for 40-45 people in April and was wondering if anyone could recommend a great, but reasonably priced caterer.
Thanks!
