Victory 44 or Travail?

I finally got to try Victory44 and loved it. I love the Devils on Horseback. The sugar sweet caramelized figs with the crisp bacon and spicy mustard, omg fantastic. I enjoyed the fried ricotta, but could have used a touch more flavor in the cheese its self, but the sauces it came with were delicious. Personally would have loved a little more sauce on the side. My daughter got the bacon burger, meat was moist and flavorful but we both thought it was a little salty. The fries were great. We loved the pre desert-desert (peanut butter cookie, with a bacon icing, lol.) We enjoyed the chocolate cake - the layers that separated each section of chocolates had a gelatin feel, so we ate around it. My mom is a baker and she LOVED everything (especially all the cookies on the pre desert tray). Loved our waiter and the atmosphere, had a lot fun and would to try more of options on the menu.

I think I've found the best sandwich in MSP

I tried this place about a month ago, for the first time and I loved it.!! I like to get the East Coast, It has Corned Beef and Cole slaw on top. I always order it grilled. I liked the blintzes and the Matzo ball soup had good flavor. The Matzo balls weren't as good as my moms but, it still tasted like the soup was homemade...

Purple Sandpiper in Bloomington

I went back to the Purple Sandpiper last week and it was great! I had the short ribs, mmmmm. The manager was great. Jason was so friendly and he told me about different wines. He made the experience even more pleasurable. Go and try this, I think you will be surprised.

I think I've found the best sandwich in MSP

I tried Cecils in St Paul (a Jewish Deli) for the first time on Sunday and the sandwich was delicious. I had the East Cost and it has corned beef (warmed) and cold, homemade coleslaw and it was just super yummy on the homemade, grilled caraway bread.

Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives might be returning to Minnesota

Good point and PS I went the other night and got the goat cheese with peppers appetizer and they burnt the bread. I was sad, because it would have been good, I was a little surprised.

The two places I would suggest are the Purple Sandpiper. Off of 494 and Lyndale in Richfield. I love the pumpkins pancakes and the lose lead tea, creme brulee French toast, scotch eggs and Lobster BLT.

My other suggestion is Bella Cucina in West Bloomington.Off of 169 and Anderson Lake Parkway. I love the Putenesca and I heard the Mussels are great.

I would love to know where you pick or if they have already picked a place :-

Purple Sandpiper in Bloomington

I went and tried this place after everyone said it was so great. I had a late lunch and they were servicing the brunch menu. I tried the pumpkin pancakes and they were delicious. For my beverage, I tried to order a Bloody Mary and they didn't have the mix. So, I changed to the tea (since people seemed to enjoy it). That was also good, piping hot and great flavors. Staff was attentive, nice and knowledgeable.

I can't wait to try the dinner menu!!!!

An amazing restaurant in an unlikely place

I have tried the Lai Inn and it's ok. It drives me crazy that all you can find is the chain restaurants. We need more daring, delicious mom and pops around here. I have only had a grilled cheese sandwich and it wasn't that great at Zeke's . The beer is good and it's like going to a VFW. If you feeling like going to a old time bar that feels like it should be in a small town, it's perfect. :-)

An amazing restaurant in an unlikely place

I would love to try it, but I have a sea food allergies. I hope I can sneak out during the storm this weekend to try more items. I am lucky it's in my neighborhood :-)

Do you have any other suggestions for this area?

An amazing restaurant in an unlikely place

Tonight for the first time I visited this restaurant and it was great. I got some food to go. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I ended up getting Puttenesca. It had kalamata olives, red onion and capers. It tasted like the one I make. Like someone authentic recipe. It was so delicious

The owners wife (co-owner) makes the Tiramisu by scratch and it's the best I have ever had!

It's in Bloomington right off of 169 and Anderson Lake parkway. I can't wait to go back! Has anyone else been here?

Where can I get some good potato latkes?

I like cross roads in st louis park. It's hard to find good latkes. It's funny but sometimes I like to eat the German potato pancakes at Perkins in edina and that reminds me of latkes.

Breakfast places in Twin Cities

My mom and I went to Crystal Cafe this morning and we loved it. It's a small dinner and it's very blue collar. I love there pancakes, thin and light, so tasty. We had the frittada (sorry if that 's spelled wrong} It was delicious. It's kind of a greasy spoon, but we really like it.
I think it might be cash only to pay for your meal. Just my opinion..

Does anyone know of a restaurant that serves Great Texas ribs?

Here is a link to a picture of where I think they cut the Texas rib from.
I really don't understand it fully, but I am trying. I think they take this meat and make prime rib steaks and then leave a little meat on the bone and this is called Texas rib.... I have heard different information on this. If anyone really knows any more information, I would love to hear about it.

Does anyone know of a restaurant that serves Great Texas ribs?

I know it's hard to find information on Texas ribs, not Texas "style" ribs. It's actually the 13th rib from the baby back beef rib. The meat from this rib is part of the Rib eye meat. It has a longer thick bone and less meat, but, the meat and the taste are off the charts good. I have to get it from my butcher and most of the time its frozen, It's not as popular as the other cuts. I've heard of Big Daddys, I'll have to try that thank Foureyes!!!!

Staying in St. Louis Park

Went to Ringo's in St Louis Park, it's across the street from Yangtze and by Crave....

I enjoyed it a lot. I had The stone pot bibimbap (a.k.a. "mixed rice" topped with thin-sliced meat, vegetables, and egg) I really enjoyed it. I have never had that dish before, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but both me and the kid enjoyed the taste.

My daughter had the Fiery soy chicken. We both loved that. It has nice fresh flavors. We started out with the hummus and I liked it when I combined it with the marinated red peppers. I didn't like the olive with it, it was to salty for me. My daughter loved the hummus on it own with the pita. We had the Belgium chocolate mouse, mmmm. They are featuring a Belgium menu, in addition to the regular offerings.
