Heard good things about this place Matsugen. Anyone know why it closed? Any other awesome Udon in the city?

Los Feliz vs La Esquina
All of those places sound really good. Thanks. Ever been to the two I asked about?
Restaurant Recs for two this week
We really loved Babbo a lot. Buddakan is really hip and fun. Good food. Always gets good reviews. Momofuku Saam Bar is amazing and a really enjoyable hip dining experience.
Max Brenners is a really fun place for dessert.

Fette Sau Robertas Pulinos
This trip most of our restaurants seems to be Asian. Going to the Bohemian, Yakitori Totto, Ma Peche, Bahn Mi Bakery, Pho Grand. Did read about Ilpuddo but had a few others we would rather go to. ever done any of these?

Los Feliz vs La Esquina
Which place should I go to?

I am a Chicagoan spoiled by Rick Bayless so it needs to be really good.

Fette Sau Robertas Pulinos
This will be my 4th NY food trip. Done it all it seems. Wondering how Pulino's is. For breakfast?
Also, is Roberta's any good? Want to do some pizza of course. It is NY after all. Have been to Di Fara Johns on Bleeker St. And Artichoke Basilles.
The I read about this Fette Sau and wondered if it's even worth a meal. You know how it is when you want every meal to count and be amazing. Sounds delicious.
Any other recommendations would be nice. Here are some of the noteworthy places I have dined.

Shake Shack Fries Suck Horribly
Ok and do they do the same amount of business in Boston as Shake Shack. There is probably a reason they don't make the fries fresh. Secondly, we both thought the fries were killer. Like really really good.

EMP or Ko?
Figured it out. Sorry. I am from Chicago. So not down with the abbreviations. But I did figure it out.
EMP or Ko?
I am a loser but what is EMP? Dined at Ko myself on a trip to NY and it was amazing. Not many places you can sit a foot away from your food being prepared and see how everything is done. It was the most amazing dining experience. The food was phenomenal. The chefs were super nice and talked to us about the dishes. It was surprisingly laid back. Which we really loved. Just because food is expensive and beautiful doesn't mean it has to be stuffy and pretentious. It was a really fun time and all of our dishes were amazing.
Colicchio & Sons NOT 3-star [moved from Manhattan board]
I would like to see some people's opinions on the Tavern. That's where we are planning on going. For the pizza mainly. How is the burger?
Upright Citizens Brigade
Nothing over $50 for two people without drinks. Were going to go to Collichio and Sons.
Upright Citizens Brigade
Going out on sunday night to the Upright Citizens Brigade and wondered what is a great place to eat around there. Nothing fancy but something delicious.
Colicchio & Sons
Is this place any good. Very mixed reviews on menu pages. Want to go one night for the pizzettes. Just wondered if it's worth the time and money. Seemed a bit pricey for what it is. Is it really worth $12-$14 for these things?

Great places for foodies to shop
Just coming to NY next week from Chicago and wondering if you can tell me some great places to go for spices and cooking goodies. I have been to Zabar's and felt like I was in heaven. So use that as your guide. I would love to go to some cool places. Not real into Indian or Middle Eastern which I found a lot of when I googled it. Thanks!
Worth the wait?
Well because when we were in NY last there was an hour long line. Most of the lines I have seen are longer than 20-30 minutes. You must be talking about the UWS location or something. Or when they are first open.
Worth the wait?
I would wait for Artichoke. Have heard it's really good. I want to try it. Also, Momofuku is not over rated. I love it.
Worth the wait?
Are you talking about the UWS one because I was referring to that one.
Worth the wait?
If I may ask, biryaniboy, what are some other restaurants you enjoy in NY?
Thanks, by the way, I am a smart person. Just feel like there are so many places to eat in NY and I don't want to feel angry about wasting a meal on Shake Shack if it's over rated. And according to you it isn't. So I think I may check it out. How far would you say it is from the MET Museum of Art? Thinking of going the day we go to the museum.

Worth the wait?
So are these like big juicy burgers or more like Five Guys style burgers, a little more fast food? So the wait up at the UWS location is minimal?
Worth the wait?
Is Shake Shack really worth the wait? We have been to NY two times now and always skip it because of the lines. Is it worth our time? Really, what is so special about this burger. I have had Five Guys Burgers and heard those were all the rage and when I finally had one it was horrible.

Lunch by the MET
What is a good place to grab lunch up by the MET? Something more inexpensive.

Is Momofuko Milk Bar worth a second chance?
I would say it's not really worth a second try. In my mind if a place can't wow me on the first time it isn't worth my time again. Think of all the amazing bakeries in NY. Try something new. Had the ice cream too and thought it was nasty personally. Was really excited by the idea of it thought. Had some chocolate cake with a buttercream filling that had crumbled up yellow cake mixed in it. Was good but just not memorable. Also tried a cookie which I thought was eh as well. Had much much better in Chicago and NY elsewhere.
Momofuku Ma Peche
So it is fully open? I am trying to figure that out. By the looks of the list you posted, it seems to be open. Hmmmmm. Looks amazing and the burger does look killer.
Momofuku Ma Peche
Has anyone dined here? I looked on menu pages and there was only one review and the guy seemed super disappointed. I think it just opened or only does breakfast. Please post something if you have been there. I don't want to waste my time with it if it isn't any good. I just know I love David Chang's places so wonder how this is.
Where to go for moist cupcakes?
I had a vanilla cupcake there and thought it was amazing and very moist. Billy's Bakery also has really good cupcakes. Magnolia may be touristy but that doesn't make a place bad. It simply means that tourists go there because it's well known. It really is great.
Foodie needs dinner suggestions
We had already planned on eating breakfast there one morning as we did hear the same. Amazing breakfast. Can't wait to try it. One of our favorite chefs Rick Bayless dined there on a trip to NY and really enjoyed it. That's actually how we found out about it. Thanks!
