Need update on BBQ stands and restaurants: central FL

The last time I drove by it, Hickory Hollow looked closed. I think they used to be open seasonally.
There's a passable place in Umatilla on the Cannery side of the road.

Easy Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

aluver - what changes did you make for the East NC-style? It's my favorite, and I also can't eat tomatoes anyway. I got the cider and a little beer - was that cider vinegar? If not, Add any cider vinegar? Mustard?
Thanks.

Best croissants in San Diego?

It was a few months ago, early in the morning, and we also had breakfast. Croissants were very fresh, light, and crispy. (Restaurant location, not a farmer's market site). And I do admit to wanting to like them - I love hardworking people like they are, but I wouldn't go there just to support them....
Overall, I'd have to again say that my hands-down favorite is Delight of France. The main baker is French, and after living in France and returning recently, I still maintain that their croissants are as good or better. Easy to get to in Escondido on Grand. Parking (free) behind the building in the city parking area.) The almond ones are often sold out if you go too late. They also have simple meals, and terrific pastries, but the croissants are addictive.

Stone ground grits

As a confirmed grits (and GRIT), it's impossible to get great grits here. I order mine online from this beautiful mill in southern Tennessee (Belvidere) - still use a water wheel, and a great husband-and-wife team own it. It's called Falls Mill - and the website is www.fallsmill.com. I usually just call them. I also get my corn meal from them. Once you have their grits, you'll never want anything else. The taste of the natural ingredient really shines through.(No - I have absolutely no connection with them, and they don't even know my name, but I found them when I was visiting family there about 18 years ago and it changed my Grits Exile in SoCal forever.)

Best croissants in San Diego?

Hands down, Delight of France in Escondido - either for their plain and the life-altering almond ones, or Loic - either their restaurant on Del Dios or at one of their locations at Farmer's Markets.
I'd put the ones from Delight of France up against anything I ever had while living in France - in fact, these days, they're better than much of what's available in Paris.

Best Farmer's Market in San Diego?

Vista on Saturday mornings. It's worth the drive.
Hillcrest on Sundays - but not as many varieties of veg and fruit in season.
