Lunch in Providence, RI near Brown?

Actually ended up at Meeting Street Cafe after eyeing the lines at East Side Pockets - got a great veggie melt with tomato soup and a garbage cookie. Thanks for the rec!

Friendly Toast recs?

I love the Almond Joy pancakes, but as it's been said in here, it's for people with a huge sweet tooth only.
And the insane slices of Anadama toast are fantastic!

Slightly inexpensive, if possible. Going to visit Brown with my mother and would love to get a bit of a taste for the local restaurant scene!

2010 Winter RW Report

Went to Miel for dinner last night. Bread basket was delicious - had an interesting whole-grain baguette that was divine with the olive oil. Wait staff seemed very annoyed that we got a bottle of San Pellegrino instead of wine and must have asked us 8 times if we wanted anything else to drink - no means no, thanks! Menu included 2 things that weren't on the RW website on their menu - you had to pay an $8 premium for each, crab cake and steak frites, if I'm not mistaken. I'm a vegetarian, so I went with the pan-fried gnocchi entree - it was absolutely fantastic, pillowy-soft and complimented perfectly with one of their house specialty olive oils. The tomato tart appetizer was lovely. The chocolate torte, however, was ice-cold and served with an unpleasantly bitter raspberry sauce. The olive oil ice cream it was served seemed closer to a sorbet, but that didn't make it any less delicious!
It was nice overall, but definitely had a case of high highs and low lows, I don't think I'd return on a non-RW.

Looking for really good Irish Soda Bread in the Burlington area

Willing to travel a bit if there's nothing around here!

Rustic Leaf Bistro - New in Milford NH

I had a great experience here on Valentine's Day. It's not often a vegetarian couple can go to a nice establishment and be able to order 2 different entrees, let alone have trouble picking one! The risotto was fabulous, as well as the macaroni and goat cheese appetizer. The decor is lovely. The waitress was a bit awkward, but that seemed the only low point of the meal.

G'vanni in North End any good? it's 50% off!!

I can't vouch for the North End loc, but the Billerica one had FABULOUS pumpkin ravioli with burnt butter sage sauce, and I see that the North End has that on their menu as well. Amaaaazing.

Restaurant Week of 2010 - Best of the Bunch?

I was browsing the list of restaurants for Restaurant Week and I was wondering what the Chowhounds would deem the most worthy, with my schedule I can only squeeze in 2 :(. It's my first year checking it out.

seeking hot cross buns ...
