I bet all the guys would love to know where they can sell their catch fo r5.50 a lb. The stores are selling them for less than that in some places. I'm hearing they might try to get it down even lower. Under a dollar a pound.Just think., If a couple guys go out and catch 100 lbs, they can make a ton of money!

Word is , they are going to start forcing the price down soon. They only want to be paying the boats 1.75 by summer. The 30 or 40 lbs caught now can gross a boat as much as $200 now for spending 150 on bait and 60 nor 70 on fuel. The rest of the expences come from?????? 2 guys get to split whats left over. You would think there would be a shortage with those kind of landings with nobody fishing??? Somewhere in a world market they should be able to make that kind of weight disappear.

thats it??? 3 bucks! I didn't even know they fished for lobsyer in Maine this time of year. Some guy must have caughtr a few hundred pounds and flooded the world market . Hence 3 dollars a lb. Should be $8 to $10 a lb of the boat now. The bait is about $4 to catch a lobster.

this is what lobster should be selling for. fillet mignon use to be typically priced a few months of the year. Summer time a lobster was about twice the cost of farm stand corn. or about a dozen chix for the price of a bushel of clams.

I didn't know I could only eat lobster for these reasons. I'll have to stop eating them now. I didn't know??? I eat them because I wanted them. Just like sometimes I want a steak or sometimes chicken or pork chops.......Since Lobster always cost more than a filet mignon this time of year it sounds like a bargan in comparison to its typical prices.
After all, hot dogs 7.99 lb... lobster is a bargan at twice the price of hot dogs.

Haddock went up from the year 2000 to about 7.99 at stores or a 15%ish increace. Cod had about a 100% increase to 8.99 lb And lobster is probably at its all time inflation adjusted low. I would compare it to great depression pricing.
