Are reservations necessary for lunch in Paris?
Hi all. First off, thanks to everyone for all the information they provide here on the boards. We've spent a lot of time in Paris over the years, but I'm a relative newbie to the boards here, and it's been a great resource so far for our latest Paris trip.
Currently, I'm looking into places for lunch in Paris, and I was wondering if reservations are generally need/accepted at certain restaurants in Paris. I'm used to making reservations for dinner of course, and I'm not talking about lunch places that are too high-end, more like L'Argume, Frenchie, Chez l'Ami Jean, Josephine - Chez Dumonet, etc. Any info is appreciated. A+
Shipping wine from France to the US
Thanks for the quick reply, and yeah, I've seen that the USPS prohibits sending alcohol. What I was wondering is if there were any recent changes to the laws, because we've received wine from France shipped in the same manner as recently as Fall of last year, but now the French postal service says they can't do it. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't legal all along, but just curious if anyone knows if anything changed recently.
Shipping wine from France to the US
We have family in France and from time to time, they send us a couple of wine bottles using the French post office. They use the boxes specifically made for shipping bottles, so the post office always knew what was being sent. Last week they went to their local French post office again to ship us a couple of bottles of Bourgueil, and they were told that they can no longer send alcohol to the US, and that it was a US law (not a new French law) that was to blame. Anyone have any similar experiences or know anything more about this? Thanks.
