Need suggestions for great tasting Chili Powder

You could grab Gebhardt's at WalMart if you were in a hurry, but not really a 'premium' brand. I'm looking for a nice dark chili powder.

Grinding chiles for chili powder sounds like a daunting task....where to find Mexican Oregano, dried ancho chiles, dried chiles from New Mexico, and dried chiles de Arbo.

Thanks, though

Need suggestions for great tasting Chili Powder

Having spent many years in Texas, Chili Powder is a staple in our kitchen and used quite a bit. Surprisingly, the old 'Equality' brand tasted great, and I could get those larger packages for not a large price.

Since Metro took over, that brand is dead, they won't give information as to what company packaged the old Equality brand. I've been tasting other chili powders I find locally, but most have that awful clove taste as an undernote....bleh.

Can any of you suggest a Chili Powder brand that tastes great?

Thanks very much.
