Casual Bars/Lounges in Hollywood or Downtown?

I'm looking for some suggestions of bars or lounges in Hollywood (walkable from the red line) so not too far off the beaten path there, OR in downtown Los Angeles near the financial district.

Not too young (30-somethings - not a USC hangout), not too loud, not a dance club. Good drinks, decent atmosphere, not completely packed. Casual; A place where there may be room to sit and have a conversation. I know I may be asking for a lot here, but know nothing on this subject. Anything would help!

Lunch Spot (casual) from LAX to the Getty?

I'm wondering if anyone has good casual lunch suggestions anywhere near enough to the route between LAX and the Getty Center. (I don't mind going a bit off the trail) Santa Monica/Culver City is fine as well!

Was thinking of Father's Office, but it doesn't open until later on weekdays.
I'm open to any type of cuisine, just not too expensive or pretentious this round, and relatively quick.
