Organic/natural place for dinner?
Le Pain Qutidien's savory dishes are flavorless. I recommend Kate's Joint, or, if You're dining on the early side, Mud Cafe.
Falafel
I agree, Mamouns was just decent - thr proce os the best thing i can say about t. Hudson Falafel is fresh tasting with unique spices.
Vegetarian Favorites cheapies downtown?
Not necessarily a vegetarian restaurant, but somewhere that's got excellent veggie options. Personally, I'm quite partial to Taim, Chelsea Thai (in Chelsea Market), Hale & Hearty Soups, and Yummy Schwarmy. I would adore some Chow-worthy suggestions if anyone's got any!
I am desperate for best Tribeca asian vegetarian cuisine
Need to order out right way...if anyone has ever experienced a crazing emergrency, you'll understand. I love dishes with tofu, veggies and sweet sauces. Heeeellllllpp!
Cafetasia - what do you think?
My boyfriend and I ADORE this pan-asian eatery, but my bro, another chowhound, finds it vile. Anyone moved either way?
best bakery for birthday cake in nyc
Cookie cake from milk and cookies bakery on Commerce st.
Max Brenner's Chocolate Shop
I have to disagree with WindyCity...In the wintertime, I often sneak in there for the hot chocolate, hoping not to shame myself by anyone i know seeing me enter this generally insulting spot. I don't know how that hideous and revolting "Bald Man" does it, but the hot cocoa is INCREDIBLE! I am also quite picky about my chocolates, and I would contest that, origins aside, their hot cocoa stands up to Jacques Torres.
However, under NO circumstances (except, perhaps, in the event that the rest of the world's chocolate supply ran out and M.B. became the plenipotentiary proprieter) would I ever recommend eating any of their gimmicky (Chocloate Pizza, Bagel with chocolate, etc), overpriced, and sub-par chocolates. Why waste your money and efforts when you can walk a few blocks up from the Union Sq location to City Bakery?
Honestly, you'd be better off with a symphony bar from the corner deli.
Hungry (and cheap) in Greenwich Village!
Looking for a place either to go eat or order takeout tonight for my boyfriend and I. Preferred cuisenes are basically ANYTHING but Indian, Greek (or any sort of Mediterannean), or Mexican. Especially adore Thai, Italian, AMerican, Japanese, but we love discovering new tasty foods. My BF is brke, so I will be financing this culinary excursion and don't fancy the idea of spending a big wad of cash. Suggestions????
