Epic last meal in Boston

It all sounds yumbo-licious.

On your way to the airport, don't forget to stop at Flour to scarf some scones and pound some pastries.

Epic last meal in Boston

It's obvious: Neptune Oyster.

I'm an LAX guy, and my best friend and I have been known to fly into Boston for a day. No trip -- and I mean NO TRIP -- would be complete without the warm lobster roll.

If I were leaving Boston for good, I'd also really miss the three-hour meal at Hammersley's Bistro. I've never tasted better roasted chicken. If you and hubby-man want to amp up the romance quotient, insist on reserving table 31.

Cheers!

Altadonna: Best Restaurant in Queens?

Two things:

Can anyone confirm whether it's open Sundays?

Newsday appears to have taken down the review. Does anyone have the text of the story to post?

Thanks!

who are the iron chef judges? give me the scoop.

To true. And NO ONE is more nauseatingly self-important than that metrosexual Andrew something-or-other, who worked for Bone Appetite. Maybe it's people like him who drove the rag under? (Off-topic, but I'll take Saveur any day. In fact, I still do. Becuase I CAN!)

Peet's Coffee

I've heard that Peet's is opening a store in Union Station! That would be awesome for commuters and downtowners.

Anybody else heard this?

Coffee Throw Down

(1) Caffe Luxxe
(2-tie) LA Mill
(2-tie) Intelligentsia (but, dudes, lose the sniffy 'tude!)
(3) Peet's
(4) Groundwork (still steamed that Starbucks forced them to give up their Clovers)
(5) Panini Cafe (in Marina del Rey) -- nice single-cup drip!

If "awful" is one star, I would rate Urth 1.5 stars, just north of awful. Ditto on everything that MahiMahiFish said, PLUS the chaos and disorganization at the downtown location is tragicomically bad. Call it lame chi, bad feng shui, whatever. Food runners are always bumping into you, if you sit at any of the desirable tables. Only the most peripheral (as in, by the john) tables are spared the elbow treatment. The grub was uninspiring. I give it the extra half star for the setting, across the street from the Barker Block lofts. The vibe on the block is cool; too bad Urth isn't "getting it" yet.

Sorry to stray from the main topic. Urth should be admired for the way they source their coffee, but it left me wanting. Drip joe was too thin, as was the foam on the double capp.

Wasn't Kean founded by the founder of Diedrich's?

Watercress Salad with Manchego, Membrillo, and Almonds

Que rico, Jessica! Thanks for posting.

I'm pretty sure membrillo is sold at Grand Casino Bakery, on Main St. in Culver City. It must be, because they use truckloads of it in their amazing cookies!
