Monday dinner in Fresno/Clovis
Next Monday, my daughter and I will spend the night in Clovis, on our way to a camping trip in the Sierras. Do you have suggestions for dinner on a Monday in the Clovis/Fresno area? Trelio and the Cracked Pepper Bistro seem to be closed on Mondays. Thanks!

Visiting from LA- two questions
It sounds as if Gaetano's is the consensus for Oak Park. I really appreciate the suggestions for downtown, there is so much good food in Chicago! We have Mexican food in LA, of course, but nothing quite like the Bayless restaurants, so I'll see if I can get a seat at Frontera. The Bongo Room and Giordano's are on my list too.
Thanks Chowhounds!
Visiting from LA- two questions
Three people, any kind of food but on the special side, and I'd like to spend $75-100 per person. My friend lives in Oak Park, and I thought it might be nice to stay in the area, but we'll have a car.
Visiting from LA- two questions
Hi Chowhounds,
Next weekend, I'll be visiting Chicago from Los Angeles. I have two foodie questions.
First, where would you eat near the Fairmount Millennium Hotel? I won't have a car, and I might be solo. I don't want to sit through an endless tasting menu. I would like a quintessentially Chicago meal, something I wouldn't find in LA, in the fine dining but not astronomical price range. Cafe des Architectes, for example?
Second, do you have suggestions for a special place in the Oak Park area to celebrate a friend's significant birthday? Would it be better to go outside the neighborhood? I don't have a good sense of Chicago geography so my searches aren't coming up with much.
