Dinner for 6 - any recommendations?

Looking for ideas where to go with 6 people. Two are pregnant....

Last time we went to L'abbotoir which was great.

Was maybe thinking of Fable, Wildebeest or Boneta's. But open to any other suggestions.

Thanks!!

Lunch ideas between Nanaimo & Buckley Bay

Hello,

Heading from Nanaimo (after taking ferry from Vancouver) and cycling to Buckley Bay. Looking for some suggestions on where to stop for lunch. Thinking somewhere around Parksville/Qualicum. Any suggestions? And since we are cycling nothing too, too, far out of the way. We will be taking the seaside route.

Thanks :)

Retirement dinner ideas needed

Hi,

Looking for some suggestions for a small retirement dinner. It will be for about 10 people. The guest of honor wants pasta. And there are some picky eaters (that do not like seafood). Any suggestions. Was originally thinking Lupo but they will only do a group menu - and it likely doesn't have enough variety to suit everyone... Oh and ideally downtown/yaletown - but open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance :)

R.TL, Chambar or Boneta

What do you suggest for a family dinner (around 6-8 ppl)? Thinking about Boneta, Chambar or R.TL. I've been to Chambar before (and liked it) but haven't been to the other two. Also open to other suggestions.

anniversary trip - 4 nights, where to eat?

Chikalicious looks really good. For Momofuku: is it like izakaya fusion or is it different? Also would Momofuku be suitable for someone not eating meat?

anniversary trip - 4 nights, where to eat?

We will be coming to New York in late August to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. I am looking for some recommendations on where we should eat. Planning for two or three nicer dinners (one of those being our anniversary night). We are in our mid 30's, professionals. We are looking for places with good atmosphere and good food, nothing stuffy or pretentious.

For anniversary dinner looking for mains prices up to $40. For other 1-2 nights looking for mains priced around $20-30 (less is perfectly fine too!). That price is just for entree's (not including appies/dessert/drinks/tax/tip etc). We tend to eat a lot of asian (chinese/japanese/sushi etc). So are looking for things that we may not get on the west coast.

ALSO dietary restriction: I eat fish/seafood but no other meat (ie not port/chicken/red meat). My husband eats anything. We like all kinds of food especially ethnic and ethnic/fusion.

Some places I'm considering are: Gramercy Tavern, Babbo, Perilla, SD26, Colicchio & Sons, Scarpetta, Balthazar, Locanda Verde, The Little Owl, Tabla, Otto, Craft/Craftbar, Pastis, Spice Market, Market Table

Any thoughts on these? Any recommended or should be missed? Other suggestions?

Thanks!!

gastown/chinatown - with teen

Any recommendations near Dr. Sun Yat Sen Chinese Gardens. Not too expensive. Will be with teen. Can they go into gastropubs?

all clad copper core vs d5 vs stainless - worth the price?

So is it worthwhile to invest in the copper core over the D5 or Stainless lines?

What pieces do I need (All Clad & Le Creuset)

I am looking at getting a new pot set (well not a set but open stock). I currently have an inexpensive set I've had for years and looking to replace it with better quality. I am thinking of going with the All Clad Copper Core line. I will be cooking for two and we have gas stove and convection oven.

These are the pieces I'm thinking of getting. Anything else I should get (or remove)?
1.5Q saucepan w/ lid
2Q saucepan w/lid
4Q saucepan w/lid
8" frypan
10" frypan
3Q saute pan w/lid
Le Creuset dutch oven - what size??

Also considering a 3Q saute/simmer pan w/lid and/or 12' chef's pan. Should I get either of these, and if so would I then need less of the pans above?

Hi,

Looking for recommendations for a birthday dinner for 6-7 people. Ideally downtown (yaletown, gastown etc). Something moderately priced (around $20-30 entrees)

Thanks!
