Guilty Breakfast Pleasures

The pecan sticky bun at the Liberty market in Gilbert is probably the guiltiest of guilty pleasures. Thier breakfast quesadilla is delicious as well.
Bill Johnsons chicken fried steak and eggs is always a splurge.
Chompies has the best scrabmled eggs on thier daily breakfast.
That sticky bun at Liberty market will leave you will leave you with a smile...and you will need a nap.

Mom and Pop Italian

Thank you for this Post!!
La Famiglia was great!! just what the docter ordered. Simple no frills, good food.
The Garlic Knots were a hit!!
the Pizza was hot, tasty, delicious and had a great crust, not too thick soft and chewy.
The spaghetti had a sweeter sauce but all in all delicious.
The meatball sandwich was on soft crusty bread, hearty meatballs and slathered in cheese. It was the favorite!!
The canolis were even good. I will definetely hit this place again. The service was on, No frills, but fast friendly service.
THANKS!!

All you can eat crab legs

Fort Mcdowell Casino has crablegs on Friday nights. They were not that bad, but the Area chinese buffets are hit and miss for them, usually crowded.

Mom and Pop Italian

I will definetely try La Famiglia, I do enjoy Rigatony's lunch they have great specials. They did however close the Mesa location and it was changed to Mardinely's (sp) It did not have the same love or attention that Rigatony's offered.
I look forward to trying a variety of places suggested.
thanks!!

Mom and Pop Italian

I am searching for a mom and pop style of Italian place. I can't say i care for Bucco di Beppo. It isn't a great place for a simple quiet italian meal for 2.
Carrabas and Macaroni Grill do nothing for me. I am in search of a mom and pop spaghetti and Lasagna place that is reasonably prices with personal service.
IN the east Valley, Talianos used to fill the bill but it has been gone for ages. There was also a place called " The big Bowl" in Tempe that was simple and had great personality.
Any suggestions would be great. Just simple Italian food.

Is there an upscale Mexcian restaurant in the Valley?

I can't say that I have been wowed by consistently great Mexican food in a moderately priced, decently good food place.
In the east valley. I have tried Manuels, Serranos, Garcias, Macayos, El Charro, Nandos and a few others.
I was particularly pleased with Si Senor in Chandler, and for What i would call New Mexican Food it was good, great portions and helpfull staff.
El Charro in Mesa is still a favorite for the staples, Beans, Tacos and sublime enchiladas. I think they offer great chips and salsa. It is a local Icon and can disapoint.
I have never tried Tia Rosas. There is something about the place that turns me off. I just can't make it in there.
I am always open to trying new places but haven't been inspired by a whole lot lately.

As a native, Petes is an icon. The quality of the fish has degraded over the years, but the "pete's Sauce" is an old favorite. I also noticed that thier shrimp varies from location to location. I can't exactly say i would recomend them for good fish and chips. But you should try thier Onion Rings...just not on Fridays..

Restaurant Closings

With the Closing of the two Sullivans Pier locations I am struggling finding good fish and chips on the east side. The original Knock Kneed Lobster is still great, but a bit of a jaunt for an east sider. Are there any hidden gems. I was recently up in Payson and the Buffalo Bar and Grill had a great Fish fry. With Lent on the way, i want to be prepaired. Enjoy!!
