Can you help me narrow down my list?
Wow - thanks for breaking this down sgordon! it really puts things in perspective! We may need to drop PerSe all together...I'm assuming you probably aren't the only one to think that letting Per Se go is best....

Can you help me narrow down my list?
Wow - this is perfect. Thanks All! and yes, we are definitely open to some more casual places - but may want to hit these places up for lunch. I so appreciate the feedback!
Can you help me narrow down my list?
Thanks all - looks like we may need to check out EMP for lunch! So, now I'm at even more of a loss for what we should do for dinner. Any suggestions based on my budget and cuisine list given above?
Can you help me narrow down my list?
thanks for the great suggestions so fari! Sorry I wasn't more clear. What was driving our list were suggestions I had read from past posts on your board and just from the research on various NY food blogs, etc....and the recent James Beard award winners and nominees.
We are looking for something a little upscale since these are dinner options - no more than $80 per person including drinks, tip, tax, etc....especially given our night a Per Se. We are looking for those spots that if you had a friend coming to New York, this would be the place you would want to take them. We enjoy French, Asian, Spanish New American, Seafood, Italian cuisine the most.. If we could find a great Mediterrean place too, that would be great!
We would like to stay away from the "old school steakhouse/seafood kind of places. Oh, and we are coming from Minneapolis
Thanks for the shout out about Momofuku - this is one of the places we want to hit up for lunch!
Let me know if you need more detail

Can you help me narrow down my list?
A friend and I will be visiting New York soon, and we are trying to finalize our evening dinner plans. We only have three nights - and one of them, we will be dining at Per Se. That leaves us really with only two nights!
Here is the list we are trying to narrow down. Which of these would you recommend? Which are overratted? Appreciate any help you can give!

Best Chef's Table?
The only Chef's Table I've done is at Corner Table. It was amaizng! The chefs continue to create (at their own inspiration) and serve you courses (along with a beer or wine pairing for each course) until you say enough. It was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend it. The cost is $125. We made it to 17 courses (13 of which were paired with beer/wine). We beat out Rick Nelson - who only made it to 11 courses:

First Time Visitor to Toronto - Any Suggestions?
Hi Estufarian and FrankD. Thanks for the suggestions, and, your tips/hints are much appreciated!
Ok, If it helps to narrow down the selections, I really enjoy Mediterranean, Middle-Eastern, Greek, Indian, Spanish, and New American cuisine. I also enjoy Thai, Japanese and Sushi - and really, seafood in general.
And, I'm not sure what qualifies as purely "Canadian" cuisine, but I'd love to conitnue to hear those suggestions as well.
Price range? Anywhere from $5 - $75 for a meal.
Thanks for you help!

Googs -great list. this is exactly what i'm looking for. thanks!
Cecilia and Pavlova, I don't mean for this to be a difficult question...I'm just trying to find out where the locals eat in Toronto. That's why I've kept it general. I want to know where you love to go when you go out....anywhere from hole-in-the wall to high end....let me know!
First Time Visitor to Toronto - Any Suggestions?
Well, I'm actually staying near the convention center....taxi's are always an option for transportation, so, if you have recommendations outside of that specific vicinity, I'd love to hear them...
First Time Visitor to Toronto - Any Suggestions?
Honestly, I enjoy just about everything!
How about this...if you were going to go out for lunch or dinner, where would you go? What are your favorites?
First Time Visitor to Toronto - Any Suggestions?
I'll be visiting Toronto for the first time next month. Any suggestions as far as "must try" restaurants? I"m open to price...just would like to know what the locals recommend. I won't have a car, but I'll be within walking distance of the convention center. Thanks!

I've done the Kitchen Table at Corner Table. By far the best meal I have ever eaten. Red Wine with Seafood?
I've had some good luck pairing reds with salmon, ahi tuna, and some others depending on how it has been prepared. Never scallops though. I've given up trying to pair scallops with a red. Their just too delicate...

Some great places to check out in Minneapolis: 112 Eatery, Cafe Lurcat, Corner Table, Brasa (also in St. Paul) Garden's of Salonica, Obento-Ya, Sanctuary, Sea Change. I'm not as familiar with the St. Paul side, but the one place I really enjoy over there is Meritage. Hope this helps!
MSP - St. Paul recommendations
I agree with larsonkl.... The one time I went last summer, I was pleasantly suprised by the food. Perhaps it was a fluke?
Restaurant for 30th Birthday Dinner
