Restaurants in DC for 4 days

Do not go to Oyamel. We were just here on Sunday and I feel like I was robbed! The prices are outrageous for what you get. If you two have a normal appetite, you will be starving for $40. I honestly would've rather paid $7 and had a Chipotle burrito for a more filling Mexican experience.

Thank you DC hounds!

I recently spent a weekend in DC and the experience would have been completely different without your input. We had a great time visiting the sites, but our food was stellar and made the trip great! Here are our high-lights.

Our favorite meal was at Cava Mezze. I've never had Greek small plates before but this place has me hooked. We decided to celebrate my birthday here and it was perfect. The ambiance is great and the food is 5-star quality! I highly recommend the Lollipop Chicken, Zucchini Fritters and the Kokkinisto (braised beef). They also comp'ed us a dozen miniature donuts with a candle for my bday. Last, the drinks were great and strong as well. The only warning is that the area (SE) is not great and I'd definitely recommend taking a cab there. 5/5

We also tried Againn for a gastropub experience. The decor was great The restaurant was a little expensive, but then again it's DC. I'd definitely recommend the frog legs and the country style pate. They also have a great Scotch list. The waiter accidentally forgot one of our items and made it up by giving us complimentary glasses of Veuve champagne. 4/5

Last, we visited a small Korean cart on Vermont and K for lunch. We would have never found this or even tried it if it wasn't for a fellow hound's suggestion. For $14 we were stuffed with delicious bulgogi and bibimbap. I would definitely recommend trying it. 4.5/5

As a side, avoid Oyamel at all costs. Insanely expensive for a very small amount of food. They definitely take the term "small plates" literally. 5 tacos (equal in size to about one real taco) and guacamole will run you around $40 after tip. The only bad experience we had! 1/5

Overall, great food suggestions. Thank you DC hounds!

Staying at the W...Help!

In terms of price range, looking to stay around $50 total (including wine)

Staying at the W...Help!

I figured the W restaurant would be ridiculous...thanks!

Staying at the W...Help!

Thanks guys, these all sound great. I'll definitely do some searching about these restaurants. I was talking to someone familiar with the SD scene and said I had to go to extraordinary desserts. Thoughts?

Staying at the W...Help!

Hey guys

I'll be staying at the W San Diego and am in need of a restaurant recommendation. It doesn't have to be walking distance as we'll have a car. This is a birthday trip, so looking for a great place for 2 (great food, ambiance, etc). Definitely don't want something stale (ie chain) or super fancy. I'm not too particular with genre, but I do love Mexican and Asian.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Is Pinkberry ever going to open in Boston?

Thanks! Hopefully that one in Harvard Square does open in the Spring. I'm doubtful though because it isn't on the Pinkberry web-site as "swirling soon."

Also, most of the froyo places we have in Boston are pretty bad. I like the local aspect, but BerryLine/BerryFreeze/etc would close within a month if they were in CA. The quality just isn't the same.

Is Pinkberry ever going to open in Boston?

I've heard about a Pinkberry opening in Boston, but when is this actually going to happen? Their web-site has said "Swirling Soon" for months and I'm starting to doubt that I'll ever be able to get Pinkberry here. Does anyone have any info about this?
