Inn at Bay Pointe in Quincy

Mom will be celebrating her 93rd birthday on Easter Day. Thinking of a birthday dinner or late lunch on Saturday 4/19. She was born and lived in Nova Scotia in her early years and still visits each summer. I have never been to The Inn at Bay Point but it sounds like a nice place for her birthday celebration with approximately 12-15 children and grandchildren, I think she would enjoy the seafood and water views advertised on their website. Opinions please and alternative suggestions. Thanks in advance!!

Looking for butcher shop or salumeria with the best hot italian sausage

Agreed!! Been buying my sausage from Smokehouse for years. My favorite is the "3P", roasted red peppers, prosciutto, and provolone. Many, many varieties. On New Years Day I used their andouille sausage for my jambalaya as well as a scotch bonnet pepper sausage to really spice it up! They are so spicy that I usually remove the sausage from the casings and use only 2 or 3 in jambalaya, chili, and other spicy dishes. No other heat is needed. Smokehouse supplies many restaurants in greater Boston and some smaller markets, including City Feed in JP.

The Best South Shore Bar Pizza

Neponset Cafe, better known by the locals as Big D's has excellent bar pizza, far superior to Town Spa. A few doors down on Washington St. in Canton Center is T & B Pub, in their first year of existence, and their pizza is more of a traditional italian style, slightly larger than most bar pizzas and my personal favorite.

BEst Meatballs (Italian) Needham, Newton, W. Rox, etc

Just 10 minutes from West Roxbury, try Bon Caldo on Route 1 in Norwood. Delicious tender, succulent meatballs!!

Good Asian buffet near Norwood

Agreed Ora, thats why I'm not a big fan of buffets of any type except when I'm especially gluttonous! The OP followed up looking for good sichuan in the same area, and Sichuan Gourmet in Sharon is the only one I'm familiar with. I'm grateful that I no longer need to travel to brookline when I need some heat! Any other good sichuan in the area that I may have overlooked?

Bagels in Boston

Life's a Bagel, 29 Washington St. in Canton. A hole in the wall in a Cobbs Corner ( Canton, Sharon, Stoughton line ) strip mall. Basically just bagels, cream cheeses and coffee, take out only, cash only, fresh hot bagels and fast moving lines out the door on weekends.

Good Asian buffet near Norwood

Sichuan Gourmet, 388 South Main St. in Sharon is excellent and only 10 minutes from Norwood. They have only been there for a month or two but if you search the board you'll see that their other locations in Billerica, Framingham, and Brookline all get a lot of love here! I have been there three times since it opened and hope it succeeds. The location has never had a successful restaurant in my 20 years in the area.

Now I've Heard It All -- A Chinese Restaurant That Serves Bar Pizza

Have been going there for years, tasty bar pizzas and great apps, generous portions!! Tuesday Nights all pizzas in the bar area are $2.99, except for the garlic shrimp pizza and scallop/bacon pie. Had the General Gau this past tuesday night, I would reccomend asking for well done as they come out prematurely at times. Great chicken wings too!

Amherst MA lunch or dinner suggestions

My mother turns 90 on Wednesday and I'm thinking of taking her for a ride to Amherst to visit with my freshman daughter at Umass. Looking for reccomendations for a lunch or early dinner. Nothing fancy but not fast food either (which is why I am asking hounds instead of my daughter). Italian, american, seafood would be best; price not important as long as it's good value. Thanks!
