Kid Friendly/Post-game Recommendation in Richmond
Bottoms Up Pizza in the bottom could probably work. I haven't been in years but it used to draw a big crowd. I'd call in advance. Most of the places near the omni are bars and if you're in there late, like after a game, they can move from the food scene to a bar crowd. Before 10:00 or so may work ok but if you're pushing up against that time you're kinda out of luck for places within walking distance.
Nice dinner in Richmond Sunday before Valentine's
Not sure what side of town you're from, but in the West End, I'd recommend Eurasia or Patina Grill. Went back to Patina after a several year break, and had a great meal. Mezzanine is another Sunday spot, but I'd pick Six Burner over that every day!
Highend Southern/Regional with Crafted Cocktails
Coming mid-week for above. $75-90 pp including drinks, tip, and tax. Will be in Arlington so convenience is appreciated.
Any early Pasture reviews? [Richmond, VA]
I'm dying to try this new place out since I love Comfort and Six Burner. Anybody been?
The Roosevelt
Finally made it to the Roosevelt the other night and my only disappointment was that it took me so long to go. Great vibe, service, and food. Had the pig's head terrine, fried sugar toads, tile fish, and the panna cotta. My daughter had the pimento cheese/chips, flank steak, and peanut butter pie. We loved all of it. The sugar toads came with friend oysters and calamari, and the batter was perfect. The peanut butter pie is very dense, not the whipped peanut butter I feared. Fish and steak were both prepared perfectly and were very good. I found it very difficult to choose a cocktail; all of them sounded great. The one I had included gin and Cheerwine and was so smooth and delicious. I highly recommend it!!
Richmond, VA in November
I agree with Stuzzi and Aziza's for the pizza. The only cheeseburger sub that I can think of is at Bernie's Subs in the Tuckahoe shoppping center, between Angela's and Flynn's. And they only have it on Fridays.
Ironfish in Richmond on Lauderdale Drive
I bought the Living Social deal last week, and am now regretting it. I'll post after I get my courage up to try.
Our inaugural EMP birthday trip - review/comments
At my favorite BBQ joint in my NC hometown, they mix Cheerwine and Sundrop and top it off with a lemon slice. A real treat!! And Sundrop has both bottled it and sold it as a slushy. The joys of small town NC!

Loved your review almost as much as a cold Cherry Lemon Sundrop!!
Portico Restaurant - River Road, Richmond, Va
Friends of mine went this weekend. Said it was "meh". Nothing special. I'm giving it more time before I go. I had such high expectations for a great place so close by. They said the baked spaghetti was no different from anywhere else, and that they'd stick with Angela's.
Any Richmond Hounders tried The Roosevelt or The Magpie?
I'm a fan of both Lee Gregory from his time at Six Burner and Owen Lane from The Track. Just wondering about their new spots.....

Need Staunton, VA Recommendation
If you're looking for something a little more upscale, and within walking distance of the Shakespeare Theatre, I stongly recommend Staunton Grocery. An incredible menu, great service, and surprisingly sophisticated (sorry all you Stauntonites, no disrespect intended) food.

Richmond Recs Needed for Next Week
I would strongly recommend both Acacia Mid-Town and Six Burner, both of which have $25-ish 3 course prix fixe. Also, check out Comfort and Edo's Squid, although there really is no bar to speak of at Edo's. A really cool place with both a neat vibe and awesome food is Pescado's China Street. Kuba Kuba is a great place as well, but it's small and your clothes will smell up your hotel room. Good food, but I'm just saying... I would stay away from any place near the Berkeley, other than its dining room (Tobacco Co, Peking, Sam Millers, etc).

NYC for 2 nights with 2 kids!
My kids loved Craft when they were younger. A nice night out, with great food and desserts. For more casual, they also loved Keste for awesome pizza.

Richmond recs needed, some restrictions
I second Comfort, and early at Edo's Squid would avoid the noise. You can make reservations there. Millie's is another wonderful choice, and will be close by, as is LuLu's, which, it looks like, may have some name appeal to your daughter!! All of those are child friendly, with wonderful food for you two and "non-intimidating" menus for the 'rents.

Making a list for a friend moving to Richmond VA need basic rec's please.
1. Hands down, best coffee is at Lamplighter. And super food there as well. It'll help if your friend is a hipster.
2. 8 1/2 is really good pizza, take out only. Bottoms Up has to be tried at least once. Very different, but a real treat.
3. I second votes for Acacia Mid-Town, Six Burner. Fine dining, but very casual vibes.
4. Millies for sure. It's the first place most people think of, and for good reason.
Other cool places to try: Mamma Zu's, Edo's Squid, Comfort, Pescado's China Street, Mezzanine, Can Can, Lehja, Kuba Kuba, and for sushi, Carytown Sushi or Akida. We also have some neat Vietnamese and Thai.

A wonderful, exquisite dinner at Daniel (full review)
So pleased to read your review. I'm not a New Yorker, only an annoying frequent tourist, but Daniel and the other Boulud restaurants are always on our must list. I've been fortunate to meet Chef Boulud on several occasions, and have appreciated his kindness. I completely realize I'm not much of a "foodie", and like to see my choices validated by a pro.
Banh Mi in Richmond, VA?
HELP!! Looks like the two places in the Tan A center have closed and VI looks empty too!! Any alternatives?
Richmond Restaurant Week April 25- May 1
Already have reservations at Acacia and Six Burner. Completely agree with Janet's recs as well! I am, however, a fan of Mezzanine.

Siberias
Just read the article on Eater about 10 Awkward Dining Moments, and one dealt with what to do if you were seated in Siberia. I'm interested to hear about where you think Siberia is in some of the nicer, 3 or 4 star places in town.
Richmond Virginia Best Hamburger and French Fries Combo
I know you didn't ask for fast food, but the new Cookout on Ridge Road is incredible. Great fresh burgers at super prices. Good shakes as well!!
Oyster Bar Grand Central
I'm a huge pan roast fan. I always sit at the oyster bar and have always had quick service (and the same guys have worked there forever) and love to watch the preparation. Although seeing how they fix a pan roast, I'm amazed at how simple it looks!!
Recommend best Richmond restaurants?
I bet we could start a whole new thread about dessert!! For some reason or other, I've never been blown away by any of the desserts at the higher end places in town. Surprisingly, I found CanCan to be very inventive and delicious. Most places, it almost seems to me that chefs try too hard to be cutting edge and the desserts never taste as good as I think they will. Thoughts?
Korean Tacos in Richmond?
I love the Boka truck and miss their cart near Riverfront Plaza!! And miss them coming to the Byrd House Market!!
Richmond, VA rec
This week is Restaurant Week so it may be tough to get in some of the nicer places. Six Burner is high on my list, as is Acacia, Comfort, and Edo's Squid.

Pearl's Cupcakes; Richmond, VA
I also went for the first time this weekend. (Actually,I went twice because it was so good!!) I'm a huge Two Sweet fan but was in Westhampton and stopped by. Had the Cherry Pie, Carrot, Sweet Potato, Oreo, and Strawberry Fields. Loved them all. Thought the Sweet Potato was one of the best I've ever had. Strongly recommend.
Client Dinner in Chelsea/Union Square Flatiron district - Suggestions?
My clients love Craft. Most entrees may be above your limit though. But the space makes a great impression and the TV tie-in doesn't hurt. AND the food is really nice.
SF Hound wants VA/Southern Regional Food BESTS
SF, have you made your trip yet? If not, do you still need some Richmond recs? If so, let me know what you're looking for!!
Looking for interesting prix fixe lunch options, travelling with 17 and 22 year old.
One of the Momo's could be a good option. Ssam Bar and Noodle Bar both offer great prix fixe lunches and have a cool vibe that your son may appreciate more than a more traditional spot.
need night recommendation
I usually stay on the same block as the Iroquis, and hit up the Red Flame for breakfast. Other than that, there really aren't any "rather inexpensive" places on the block. That said, DB Bistro Moderne is next door in the City Club and Kellari (Greek) is right down the street towards 5th. DB Bistro would be a great first meal in NYC for you.
