What should we get at Barbacco?
I had the fried Brussels sprouts. It was a bit over fried, but it was very tasty with the capers and the vinaigrette. We had the assortment of bruschetta. I liked the sardines the best. Asparagus and the tuna were just so so. I had the mezzi rigatoni/asparagus/mint preserved meyer lemon/ricotta. It was just right for my taste since my taste is on the less salt side. We had the chocolate nemesis cake, which reminded me of a flourless chocolate dense cake.
Dine About Town
I went to Campton Place and it was wonderful. The service was extra special because it is such an upscale place. My dine mate ordered the wine pairing for $24.95. She enjoyed the wines. We started off with some sort of foam of green apple and arugula. I'm guessing it was supposed to clean your palate. We both had the butternut squash soup, which they pour in front of us. My entree was short rib with mash potatoes and spinach/mushrooms. The short rib melts in your mouth, but it was a bit heavy. She had the trout, which was most delicious and it was cooked to perfection. The bread basket had three kinds. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse (which tasted like peanut butter, intensely fattening, but so good) and chocolate cake with caramel sause bananas with dollop of whipped cream. She had panne cotta (coconut). It was heavy. She had decaf and it was filtered and poured in front of her. It was so fragrant. $6.00. Wonderful service, which I felt being well taken care of.
