New Poutine Chain above Burrito Boys

There is a multi-tiered Green P lot right across the street...plus street parking out front at certain times...enjoy!

New Poutine Chain above Burrito Boys

It was open at 11:30am and I saw a flyer that said til' 4am on weekends...but you might want to call and confirm that...

Hey ya'll...just got back from lunch at Smokes Poutinerie, had the traditional ($5.95) & I gotta say it is all that I'd hoped, nice curds layered throughout, taste chicken gravy (like St.Hubert) and the fries are a good size, not so big it tastes all of potatoes...portions filled me up and sunk my co-worker...free Pop-Shoppe promo on til Sunday I think too...The wait was about 45 min, but most people were getting orders to go so we were able to sit comfortably with no problem, the line dwindled to normal by about 2:30 as we ate, the staff is very nice too, a well oiled machine all with smiles, they really have it together...can't wait til their truck is rolling around town...

Good eats in the King/Dufferin Area?

Hi Kaycee, went one night about a year ago since it is nearby, the black bean soup was absolutely flavourless and the well burnt burger served on a stale bun, this plus the atmosphere feeling too much like a facade – but that part is just my personal taste...IMHO...Cheers!

Korean restaurants in Toronto?

I like Onara Onara at 648 Bloor St W, when in the hood there are many others to check out and with a few good Korean grocery stores around, if you have the means, you can pick up all the ingredients to make your own feast at home...or at least a variety of banchan to snack on...I love those fermented black beans!!

Great little, take out only really, sushi joint is just east of the train underpass, on King is Sushi 930 (yes, it's at 930 King W.)...I second Pho Asia 21 but would skip Brazen Head, typical contrived pub with ties to The Foggy Dew = worst food ever....

Fave Ontario Beer

Woohoo! 4th place!...oh and I tried a few Mill St brews this weekend based on all the positive reviews, what a local treat that is...

san marzano tomatoes in TO

Thanks for the info ob!...I didn't realize that was the case...

san marzano tomatoes in TO

I would check out some farmers markets, I have pre-ordered a crate (bushel?) of roma's from a grower at the liberty village market, I get them this weekend...there is a large tomato farm in Prince Edward County, sorry I forget the name, but they have tons of varieties including San M's, maybe they are selling at a market in town...

...likely to late for this trip, but for the future there is a Green P lot located behind the pace, access just east of Ossington off of Dundas....

Good Pho in King West Village Area (aka Parkdale)

...hmm, I'm not sure which one I've been to, i think it was the closest since I don't recall passing another...come to think of it the spring roll wasn't great, pho was good though...

..their website says it'll be coming soon...

...personally I like the whole communal thing, I find it to be fun...at PL, the communal table is less than half of the seating, the only fault in it in this case, actually this tends to be an issue elsewhere too, is having enough room on the table for all the plates -- especially large pizza ones -- we took up what would be twice our allowed space if people were sitting all around us...

Good Pho in King West Village Area (aka Parkdale)

Hi, I live around there, I go to Pho Asia 21 (Northside of King at Dufferin) and a small place on queen, I don't know the name, but it is a few doors west of the Rhino on the south side, both are good, no need to travel to Pho Hung...

Went last night around 9pm...firstly I'll echo that it is the best in town and I would say destine to get even better, also nice room & staff was friendly and on top of things. We had...calamari, buttermilk batter was a little gooey but the red pepper sauce was AWSOME! Grilled peach salad, uses excellent local greens and had huge slabs of parmesan on it, very good and somehow none of the ingredients overwhelmed eachother. Pizza, seems like ours could have been left in the oven for a little longer since they were chewier than crisp, (we were close to the kitchen and the fire wasn't as high when ours was done vs some later crisper pies we saw) They were out of the duck so we had the sausage and margherita, at first the sausage was my favorite but then the sauce on the marg won out, it is the best I've had in Toronto for sure, crusts inspite of being underdone are still wicked...Wine list is well priced, good selection and ranging from $30-$55/btl...I think they will do very well, and they deserve to, good product - good service - good price...

Where can I find a delicious Ontario peach pie?

I'd check farmers' markets, I saw one I was so tempted by in Liberty Village last weekend...

Best mochachino in Toronto?

I've never had one, but Manic Coffee on College at Bathurst hits the mark on everything else they do, I'd trust they do that well also...

Lemon Tarts in TO

My favorite in the city is from Rahier, not so downtown but well worth it IMO...uh oh here come the cravings...

Fave Ontario Beer

In a way I'm glad to hear this from you h_p, so we're both not crazy!...good thing there are so many other options...

Fave Ontario Beer

Creemore more often than not gives me a sore stomach the next day..maybe that's why...

Fave Ontario Beer

This might be a bit of a gamble or just not interesting enough for your guests, but I really like (and I'm not alone) Ontario's St. Andre, it'd be interesting to see what they thought of a product claiming to be what they would know most about...

Michelle's Brasserie in Yorkville Question

The space is kinda cool, I can only imagine what they spent on building it...

Michelle's Brasserie in Yorkville Question

I was there about 6 months ago, a Saturday night for my aunt's 50th, I think they used to go there, I didn't eat so I have nothing to add about the food but our table of 8 were the only occupants in the whole place, was kinda sad...

Starfish: No more 100 for 100

Well, at least they responded somehow, hopefully they will be more dilligent in the future...

Fine French or Fine Italian--need advice based on recent experiences

For a nice Italian meal I have really enjoyed Noce, and on these boards been convinced to check out Zucca, but haven't been yet...

Where to find good sausage (and buns!) for the BBQ

If you happen to be in the a little west, on Dundas juast east of Crawford on the north side is Superior Sausage, they only really make 1 fresh kind but it is a great farmer sausage...
