Challenge: find me an induction capable griddle Allclad d5 square griddle pan. It's stainless and induction friendly (confirmed). Four pieces of French toast at once so probably two or three pancakes at a time. |

Can I get a recommendation on a good store bought beef broth brand? I'm in Rhode Island so Shaw's, Stop and Shop, Whole Foods, East Side Marketplace or similar stores. Thanks. |

It's bay scallop season in the northeastern USA. So recipes and wine pairings would be greatly appreciated. Friday is coming soon! |

have u run into this in high end restaurants? (la grenouille in this instance) My story on this subject: I was in a critically acclaimed restaurant, (you know, the kind where the chef doesn't trust the customers with salt and pepper shakers). Any way the foursome seated next to us, who had just dropped a few hundred on their meal, had to leave in a hurry due to a babysitting problem. The flustered Mom asked if they could get their pre-ordered desserts "to go". |

2 Weeks at the Cape - Where would you go? Just a minor clarification. The 400 Club in HarwichPORT is now a Land Ho. The 400 Club in HARWICH is still there, at least it was in May of this year. ----- |

2 Weeks at the Cape - Where would you go? The 400 Club is also worth a try - it's in Harwich. It's been consistently good for many years. Have fun! |

Providence Restaurant Weeks 2010 -- Help Please! We Providence area denizens are extremely selfish, and since we apparently are no longer a "foodie" destination (see another post above), we aren't going to respond to this inquiry. In addition, I have several places on my list. and I don't want to deal with crowds. ; -) |

Those of you with computer and/or scanning skills should look at software called OneNote from microsoft. You can scan or download just about anything into it, it's fully searchable, you can add your own notes to it, and do a whole lot of other things. there is a myriad of other uses- business and pleasure, and it's really great for storing and organizing all kinds of information. |

Providence for Waterfire next weekend - Parkside, Mills Tavern, Nick's or Broadway Bistro??? I can't speak about the other places, other than confirming that Mills Tavern is expensive, but the Parkside is always solid. If it's a Waterfire night get there early because it's a popular stop. Recommend sitting at the bar if that'syour modus operandi- Pete and Mike will take good care of you. Have fun! ----- Parkside Restaurant |

Google (or Bing!) Joe Henry Tuscan Ribs. The recipe is great, and so is his music. |

Any physical impediments to getting my Mom, who doesn't get around like she used to, but can still handle a few yards, into Gramercy Tavern for lunch on a Saturday in July? I'll be driving in from RI - do they do valet parking for lunch, can I get her out of the car at the front door, stairs etc? No need for wheelchair accessibility. Thanks in advance for help and tips! ----- |

What is one tip that you learned about cooking that was simple but made a huge difference? [old] Tongs. |

Pittsfield - Lennox - Williamstown Recs Please Grammercy gets my vote. I had the schnitzel with a German(!!!) pinot noir. It was memorable. Your post doesn't say if you are familiar with the area, but my experience when I was up there was that travel time can be an issue, especially between Pittsfield and Williamstown. The trip took longer than it looked like on the map, so you might want to allow a little extra time. Have fun! |

Interesting (and cheap). Has anybody used these things? |

Never thought of flat ones! These will do nicely. Thanks. |

Grilling season is upon us and I have the same old problem. I use simple metal skewers for certain items and the food is always spinning around on them, so it's hard to get the food to cook evenly. |

Two things you may have thought of: |

Cape Cod - what's good (and open!) Chatham, Harwich, Orleans area Since we are sharing: Ross' Grill in P Town is worth the trip just for the view and the wine list. The food was also good, but that was a couple of years ago. ----- Cape Sea Grille |

Cape Cod - what's good (and open!) Chatham, Harwich, Orleans area The "upscale" remark might have been inappropriate,as it was more of a vibe thing. It just seemed to us to be more formal than our mood at the time. Since we didn't eat there I didn't even look at the menu. |

Cape Cod - what's good (and open!) Chatham, Harwich, Orleans area I did answer my own question. Not much is open. From prior experience the Squire is always good and casual. There is a dining room area and the bar area. We looked at the Impudent Oyster, but it was a little too upscale for what we were thinking. ----- |

Cape Cod - what's good (and open!) Chatham, Harwich, Orleans area Tomorrow, the Bride and are I headed down to the Cape somewhere for golf and food and drink. Looking for recommendations on restaurants: good food, good wine list, friendly and casual atmosphere. Vinings in Chatham comes to mind, but it's been a while since we were there. Thanks! |
