Looking to buy "Oil of Bitter Almond"
Yep...it's almond flavoring. We use it in our holiday baking. It's different from the "sweet" almond extract you find at most supermarkets. It is much more intense/flavorful. A little goes a long way. We use it to make sandbakkles (http://scandinavianfood.about.com/od/cookierecipes/r/Sandbakkelser.htm). However, our family recipe uses the bitter almond oil for flavoring.
I am hoping to find something locally since we were planning to start our baking this weekend, and don't really have time now for the mail order process.
Looking to buy "Oil of Bitter Almond"
Anyone know if/where you can buy Oil of Bitter Almond in the Twin Cities?
I've check at both Whole Foods and Mississippi Market, and they don't carry it. Neither does Cub Foods, Target, or Byerly's.
Thanks!!!

Anyone been to this restaurant?

I see they do Dim Sum, and I'm always looking for a good/better Dim Sum place.
Thoughts / comments / issues?
Best Indian restaurant in the Twin Cities
We have really enjoyed India House on Grand Avenue in St. Paul.
I have two daughters (8 & 11) and they were able to find something they wanted on the menu, order it to their liking (MILD!) and enjoyed it!
Tea (chai) was very good, service was appropriate.
I'm not super well-versed in all of the Indian restaurants around town, but I would certainly return here...
wedding bakeries
While this isn't a "specialty bakery", I'm going to recommend Byerly's Bakery. Byerly's did our cake (15 years ago already) and did a wonderful job. They were very easy to work with, and the decorating was exactly as we wanted. We did do a couple of sheet cakes to go with the 3-tiered wedding cake, but that's a personal call. Once it's cut, a tier tastes the same as a sheet.
Pho Saigon?
So, I received a mailer today with coupons for a restaurant in West Saint Paul called "Pho Saigon". The supposedly opened on 02/22.
Has anyone been here yet? I can find nothing online about it.
King Cake Mix?
It's a family tradition to make a Mam Papaul's King Cake during Mardi Gras. However, now that Cost Plus World Markets are no longer around, we can't find anyone in the Twin Cites that carries it.
Anyone know if anyone in town carries Mam Papaul's King Cake mix?
[MSP | STP] Is Pazzaluna in St. Paul kid friendly for 6 year old child?
I have 11-year-old and 8-year-old daughters, and we have been to both Kinkaid's and Pazzaluna.
My girls are not the "run around" type. We have been dining out together as a family since they were very young, and we have pretty high expectations for their behavior. I agree that you need to judge how yours can handle the situation.
Pazzaluna has a very open floorspace, and so a it may be more difficult to hide in a corner if you anticipate there may be issue with your child. We are early diners, and on the times we have dined there, the restaurant doesn't really start to fill (and correspondingly, the noise level doesn't get very high) until the 6:30 to 7:00pm range. This is usually when we are done with our dining.
Kincaid's in St. Paul is more relaxed than it's sister in Bloomington, a doesnt' feel as "open" to me as Pazzaluna, so this may be more comfortable for you and your child.
We've had good food at both, but if you have not dined at Pazzaluna and are eager to try it, I say go for it. They will work with you on the menu for you child if he/she is a finicky eater, and the staff was great!. Just don't expect a play area and crayons...
