EATING OUR WAY UP THE OREGON COAST

In Cannon Beach is a new restaurant, Fishes Sushi you should check out. About ten minutes away is Seaside where you should try Yummy Wine Bar. Also in Cannon Beach, The Restaurant @ The Stephanie Inn should be at the top of your list for a fine dining meal. :)

Romantic dinner in Pacific Grove or environs

This past Sat. we dined at Casanova for dinner at La Bicyclette for lunch. Both places have excellent food. PortaBella is also a cozy little cottage with great food in downtown Carmel. :)

Anniversary Dinner in Cannon Beach, Oregon

We always go into the lobby after dinner and relax in the chairs by the window. This is a great place to catch a sunset. :)

Creative Fine Dining in/near Cambria?

Artisan is our favorite in the area! :)

Fresno Dilemma

We haven't been to Trelio in awhile but have always enjoyed our meals there in the past. Cracked Pepper Bistro produces some awesome food, make a reservation there. Another one of our favorites where we are weekly regulars when we are in town is Campagnia. They have a lovely atrium room there and the food is delicious. :)

Monterey-Carmel Area Best Dabs, Sardines, Cioppino

We love the Sand Dabs at The Sardine Factory in Monterey! If you can get over to Moss Landing, Phil's Fish Market does Cioppino really nice. We also like Domenico's on the Old Fisherman's Wharf for Cioppino. :)

Visiting the Willamette Valley for the first time in September !!!

I would stay at The Allison Inn & Spa where Jory is. We have stayed there twice, it is a beautiful property with large, spacous rooms and beautiful soaking tubs. We like the rooms on the bottom floor that open out to the patio. We have had very good experiences with Jory, I have ordered their room service also which was nice.

One of our favorites in this area is Red Hills Provencial Dining. The food is garden fresh and the space is cozy and comfortable. We also like Dundee Bistro where you can sample Ponzi wines. They have a tasting room adjacent to the restaurant, so you may want to plan your meal for when that is open. :)

Anniversary Dinner in Cannon Beach, Oregon

Well, we just dined at Stephanie Inn a couple of weeks ago and it was absolutely amazing! We have dined here several times over the years and it's better than ever! You can now order ala carte, no set Fixe Prix dinner. We were seated at a table by the window, it was misting the night we were there. The food quality is excellent, we had a Prawn Salad, Artichoke Soup and the Fillet Mignon which was phenomenal. It is perfect for a special occasion.

We also dined at Fishes Sushi where JP's used to be. I cannot say enough wondeful things about John Newman's new venue. The space is beautiful and immaculate with an open kitchen. Our food was delicious and the service was very attentive. The have steak on the menu there which we went back to try one night but they were closed.

Have fun in Cannon Beach! :)

Lokal - Open in Carmel Valley [Split from The Haute Enchilada Cafe in Moss Landing thread]

The space is beautiful! A rustic, elegance to the small dining room. The tables were dotted with fresh flowers from a local garden and there is a bar area where the owner was sitting on his laptop when we were there. The lunch menu was very limited the day we were there, last Tues. The water was flavored with cucmber and mint which was nice. I had the Pulled Pork sandwich which was OK, but nothing special. It came with Duck Fat fries which were pretty ordinary and I asked for a side of Aioli to go with them. Service was friendly and the wine list was very, very limited. I think they had only been open for a week.

We would like to return for dinner next time after things are more established. :)

Looking for Central Coast/Wine Country/Northern CA honeymoon recommendations

With your budget, I would consider Bardessono in Yountville. The rooms are beautiful there and ours had a spacious balcony. You can walk to Bottega, Bistro Jeanty, Ad Hoc and Redd from this property.

Another consideration is Solage in Calistoga. It is a gorgeous property with a fantastic restaurant, Solbar where dined in March. Have fun! :)

carmel

We dined at Casanova for lunch on Mon. Our third visit here. The patio was quiet as we arrived early. The Grilled Artichoke was excellent for a starter. I had the Spinach Gnocchi which was one of my favorite dishes of our trip. A glass of local Georis Sauv Blanc was perfect with our meal. :)

Al Fresco Lunch at The Haute Enchilada Cafe in Moss Landing

Well, our meal at Haute did NOT disappoint! It was a beautiful, sunny day and we dined out on the patio. The Chili Relleno was awesome and a French Mojito went nicely with our meal. My husband also very much enjoyed his meal and said this place was one of his favorite meals of our trip! We dined at Schooner's Coastal Kitchen, Casanova, California Market & Pacific's Edge @ The Highland's Inn where stayed for two nights. We also had lunch at Lokal in Carmel Valley. :)

Brunch in Portland

We have dined at both Gracie's and The Heathman, both are wonderful. If you like Japanese food, consider Departure Lounge on the 18th floor of The Nines in downtown Portland. Very pretty views and amazing food. We also like Portland City Grill where you will also have beautiful views and great food. :)

Al Fresco Lunch at The Haute Enchilada Cafe in Moss Landing

We have passed by this place so many times, now we have to stop! We will be in the area tomorrow for 3 days. Can't wait to try this place, I'm going for the Chili Relleno! :)

Visiting Laguna Beach for a week - need recommendations

We have really enjoyed our meals at Las Brisas. They have a great outdoor patio area and gorgeous views. The Stuffed Sole there is very good and the service is always very friendly. :)

San Francisco Hound Coming to Portland...Please Critique My List For Your Wonderful Food City!!!

We have dined at Le Pigeon twice. The Beef Bourginon there is amazing and the portion was a nice size. We love the Foie Gras Profiteroles for dessert at Le Pigeon. We also love, love, love Little Bird Bistro! They have the best Mussels there I've ever had and we have seafood alot when we dine out.

A few nights ago we enjoyed our third awesome meal at Departure Lounge on the 18th Floor of The Nines Hotel. I would definitely try to get up there for a meal. If you can't get in, go for a drink, the views are amazing and they have a great outdoor seating area there. :)

Drive trip from Portland to Astoria............

Last week we tried a new restaurant in Cannon Beach called Fishes Sushi. It is in the space where JP's used to be and it was awesome! The Japanese food served here was by far the best this area has seen. Miso soup, Fresh Spring Chinook Salmon (served with rice and a delicious salad) Tempura Veggies were all delicious. They offer a very nice variety of Sushi which we didn't get a chance to try. The Softshell Crab Roll is first on my list for next visit. Green tea ice cream was the perfect ending to the meal. Next time we try the Ginger Creme Brulee! :)

Cannon Beach on a Budget

Last night we had the pleasure of dining at Fishes Sushi in downtown Cannon Beach. What a gem! Immaculate dining room, fantastic friendly service and THE best Japanese food in the area. I hope this place will be around for a long, long time. We are already planning on what we will try next there. So excited about this new hot spot in Cannon Beach! :)

Four dinners in Carmel/Monterey area

Pacific's Edge @ The Highland's Inn is very good with gorgeous views. Our new favorite in Monterey is Restaurant 1833 where we have enjoyed two fantastic meals. :)

Carmel/Monterey area

Thanks for the report back! We will be in Carmel next month, we'll have to give Le Bicyclette a try. Also in Pacific Grove is Red House Cafe & Fandango for great meals.

Next visit, try to get over to Restaurant 1833 in Monterey, it's our new fave in the area, we have had two awesome meals there! :)

Novo in San Luis Obispo

We also loved our lunch at Novo! :)

Drive trip from Portland to Astoria............

Norma's also has great clam chowder and crab fettucini! The Boardwalk (new name) at The Shilo has recently improved their menus greatly for dinner! :)

Drive trip from Portland to Astoria............

Columbian Cafe is great! We like to sit at the bar and eat and chat with the chef there. If you like fish n chips, you must go to The Bowpicker, across from the Maritime Museum. Ship Inn also has gerat halibut fish n chips.

Clemente's, Fulio's, Silver Salmon Grille, Drina Daisy and T Paul's Supper Club are a few other favorites of ours in Astoria.

In nearby Gearhart, check out Pacific Way Bakery & Cafe. The Sandtrap is also there for a casual meal overlooking the gorgeous golf course.

In Seaside, check out Yummy Wine Bar & The Boardwalk @ The Shilo Oceanfront. For Mexican food, The Stand & Guadalajara Taco Shop are not to miss! :)

Portland Wine

Jory @ the Allison Inn & Spa is an awesome restaurant to try. We also loved our meal at Red Hills Provencial Dining. Dundee Bistro in Dundee is another one of our favorites in the wine country. You can sample some Ponzi Pinot Noir there. :)

College Trip to Portland with a 17 year Old Foodie.

So glad you enjoyed your dining in Portland! :)

3 Nights in Carmel in May--Need Restaurant Suggestions

Katy's Place is another one to consider for breakfast. Awesome Eggs Benedicts and Crepes there. It is located in downtown Carmel. If you get out to the Carmel Highland's area, California Market is a nice place to take in the gorgeous oceanviews. I love the Fish Tacos and Tahatian Creme Brulee there. :)

3 Nights in Carmel in May--Need Restaurant Suggestions

I've been to every place on your list except Hog's Breath and Le Bicyclette. They are all great choices! I would consider Demetra Cafe for a meal, also. It is right on Ocean Ave. close to PortaBella. Definitely do the Jazz Brunch at Mission Ranch for Sun. We like to sit outside on the patio there. :)

Bosnian restaurant in Astoria!

We love the Stuffed Cabbage Rolls at Drina Daisy and their Sopska! :)

Palm Springs - Anything new and/or exciting?

We really enjoyed our meal on the patio at BluEmber @ The Rancho Las Palmas Resort. If you want a fine dining meal in an elegant setting, we were very pleased with Wally's Desert Turtle. Tommy Bahama's Tropical Cafe was nice for a casual meal in Palm Desert. They have an outdoor patio there with misters. :)

Luau: Honolulu or Maui?

The Feast at Lele was one of the highlights of our time in Maui last June. The food and service is incredible and the entertainment is first-class. We had seats front and center, I asked for them when I made the reservation a few weeks in advance and was thrilled when we got them! :)
