Monte Alban on Santa Monica has perfect mole. Don't get the green mole, though, fairly disappointing compared to the others.

Underwhelmed at Father’s Office

Fourth! There are too many restaurants in this town for anyone to bother with this nightmare. The burger is fine, and the beer selection was more impressive a year ago before LA's beer culture started hit it's stride. These days there isn't anything they serve they you can't find some where else, and anywhere has better atmosphere than FO SM.

Bravo's Pizza in Venice ripped me off

Had driven by this place several times and had meant to go there for a while. The other night I found myself in the area with some friends and all of us hungry, perfect. The menu looked promising, bursting with phrases like "fresh", "by-hand", and "home made", I should have been suspicious. I ordered 1 slice of pizza (pepperoni) , 1 plate of "Belgian" fries and 2 sodas and was stunned when the total came to just under $17, this is not a restaurant, by the way , but a counter service pizza place with a patio. At this point I naively thought that the food would be good and I should just shrug it off, wrong. The "Belgian" fries that were, according to the menu, "Cold-cut by hand" and "twice cooked" and cost just shy of $7 were the exact same thing available in the freezer section at any grocery store, and the "large" portion barely covered a medium sized plate. The pizza was also familiar, it was exactly the same thin, greasy pizza sold for two bucks from windows on streets in almost every city in this country, profoundly unexceptional. One friend ordered a sandwich that purported to have "slow roasted turkey and aged, imported provolone ... on a fresh focaccia ", what was served could be accurately described as "cold-cuts on a roll" this came in at about $9. Another friend ordered two slices and no drink and paid $10.88.

The place trades on it's location, late hours and patio, that's fine, the problem is that it give the impression that it is some sort of Italian gourmet mecca, and then charges accordingly, this is street food at epicurean prices.
