Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray Soda

Look for Good Eats Alton Brown, Celery Man pt. 2 of 2. It tells how to make the soda yourself.

Sir Beef Green Beans from the relish bar? Recipe anyone????

Tried that. Just did not work. I don't remember much of a vinegar taste, so they weren't "pickled" or dill. Not sure about the fermentation. When I asked the owners daughter, she said they make them every day. That wouldn't be enough time for gases to produce.

Since they made them there, I am hoping for someone that knows someone.....etc. I found out the recipe for Cracker Barrel Chicken n' dumplin's from a disgruntled employee. LOL!!! Maybe I will find a sad employee that misses the great taste of their roast beef and GREEN BEANS!!!!

Sir Beef Green Beans from the relish bar? Recipe anyone????

There was a Sir Beef restaurant in Evansville Indiana that had a "Help Ye Self" relish bar with Kraut, Pickles, Beets, and these Green Beans that were awesome! I tried to get the recipe and the owners daughter said there was "everything but the kitchen sink" in them".

Well, they closed. I know they were canned beans with added sliced onions, celery seeds and other herbs and they had a "bubbly" feel to them like maybe from soda???

I would really like to have the recipe if there is anyone that knows it.

Thanks,

White Lily self-rising flour - $2.00 a bag?

If you go to the Kroger store, you can request it. They will see if it is available from their local distributor and get it in the store for you. Just speak to someone that is Head of Grocery or the one in charge for the specialty food items. I used to work there. We did it all the time.

Where can I buy pasta flour on line that won't break the bank?

Ok. But where can I find the "00" flour to try. Even on line I would try it once. Like I said I live in Southern Illinois. 3 hours east of St. Louis, 50 miles west of Evansville, IN. In the middle of nowhere. I have used white lily it is my flour of choice for biscuits and dumplings. I did make my first pasta with it since it was all I can find around here.

What is the difference between "00" flour and durum flour? And how about the Italian style flour made by King Arthur? UGGGH so many things I want to try.

Where can I buy pasta flour on line that won't break the bank?

I live in a small town in Southern Illinois. You can't find a lot of the flours I would like to have to make pasta. Bob's Red Mill has Semolina, it is $3.69 for 2 pounds. I found Durum Flour at an international food market only to find it was Atta Durum Flour. I made pasta with it anyway. Surprisingly it was very good. Would like to find Ferena "00" flour. Have read posts that says AP is just as good, but to me it taste more like a dumpling since I use AP for them. Also, was looking for a brand of egg that has a deep yellow yolk. Organic Cage free are darker than the normal ones, but not as dark as some of the instructional video's I have seen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
