Santa Clarita on Willis Ave, Bronx

Right, the Hub is on Third Ave..I should know since my brother owns real estate in both the areas. I really liked the place and food and, again, El Chile ( chef/owner) was on hand and very informative. I will try the Honduran place when I am back in the area, which will be very soon.
Thanks

Santa Clarita on Willis Ave, Bronx

I came across a mention for a spruced up Mexican place in the South Bronx on Chowhound a few days ago; of course could not resisit and visited today.

Lunch is great, food is well made, and El Chile ( that's his nickname) is on hand making sure that you enjoy everything. I did. He chatted up a storm and told me all about his long restaurant history, how he came to be called El Chile ( lots of hard work in the fields) and how he is now working on a book about chiles. Well, I wish him the best.

Who else has had the opportunity to dine there?

How about feed back on Alexander's Cafe near Bruckner, their many daily specials are terrific.

And, has anyone been to Golden Gate ( ?) on Johnson Ave in Riverdale? The place has been fully expanded and it now has a nice bar and the same classic Chinese-American menu.

So glad that the Hub is attracting some attention, lets hope that the rest of the areas provide us Bronxites with a nice number of choices.

Hey, what's the story with "Cooking with Jazz?"

Especially for the area? I hear this all the time. Let me put something out there, do you think that passionless food/restaurant people head all the way out to ----where ever--- so they can shake people down? No, those people usually head to MePa or SoHo and, darn it, no one seems to complain!!!!!!

Queens-Fiesta Mexicana: number disconnected

Does anyone know if this cute Mexican place in Queens has closed?

The great Bronx sfogliatelle showdown (with photos)

Familiar with all the Bronx mentions and would like to add one more:

Sal and Dom's Pastry
Allerton Ave near Laconia.. a bit out of the way, but worth it.
It's all family run and the owners are all from Sicily.
