$10 and under near the Grove/Fairfax area

Great thread, guys. I live in Little Ethiopia area, so it's good to know some of the cheap eats in my area.

Yeah, I don't think anyone wants to go to a restaurant called "Human Tasty".

It's Hunan Tasty. Though when you're driving by the restaurant, you have to to a double take. ;-)

Too bad Costco doesn't use Hebrew National anymore.

Exorbitant cocktail pricing?

Chowhound, Yelp, etc are good places to warn others of the high cocktail prices. I think $14 is a rip off but still end up at those places. I'd be pissed at $20 as well and would never go there again.

Outdoor Grill Northridge - Why did they close?

Thanks for the heads up about Roger's Rib Shack. However, if I'm making the trek all the way to Corbin and Plummer, I'm going a little further to Brent's.

La Scala Sucks

That's the beauty of social media. You can share your negative feedback on numerous sites like Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Chowhound, TripAdvisor, etc. People who know you would trust your opinion of Scala and avoid them for their crappy service. I'm with you. I don't care how good a place is. If they're going to treat us like crap, then I can take my hard-earned dollars elsewhere. It's not like any particular restaurant is the only game in town and there are plenty of alternatives.

L.A. Dish of the Month, July 2015 -- SKEWERS

Oh, and the waitress kept asking us if we wanted more rice or salad at no extra cost. It has a decent outdoor seating area under the patio shared with all the fabric bolts.

L.A. Dish of the Month, July 2015 -- SKEWERS

There are dozens of little Persian/ Mediterranean places in downtown LA, especially in the Fabric District. We stopped by Nafas Kabob at Maple and 9th in the heart of all the fabric and trim shops. I had a juicy and well seasoned koobideh kabob for $5.99 lunch special (1 skewer, rice and salad). Very friendly staff there.

Ethnic restaurants near Beverly hills

Uber is cheaper than taxis, mostly.

I don't mind mixing it up every once in a while to types of cuisine or neighborhoods, though it would be difficult for far reach posters to make it other areas.

halvah in LA?

There's only a couple of markets on Fairfax that I'm aware of. There are larger Kosher grocery stores on Pico near La Cienega: Glaat Mart and Elat Kosher mart which sell good halvah. Also, try Sun Market on Westwood (Persian)

Most underrated LA restaurants

+1 on Craft. The service there is impeccable and they take care of the little details which make the experience that more enjoyable.

Fun restaurant with teens?

I second the recommendation for Grand Central Market. There's something for everyone there. Seating is a bit of an issue though.

Ok, lets throw down ... rank your places for best xiao long bao (or XLB)

I don't speak Chinese and I can't understand them when I tried calling previously. Plus it's easier to ask on the interwebz and let the experts answer!

Does anyone know if Mama Lu's serves dumplings in the evening on Sunday? My aunt has her heart set on going here.
