What's up with Ferrari's Italian Villa?

Okay, I called Ferrari's and they say the website should be fixed in a few days. So I hope I was unnecessarily alarmed.

What's up with Ferrari's Italian Villa?

Thanks, CocoaNut. I'll check out Open Table. I also think I'll call them. Definitely don't want to choose weird over Chamberlain's Fish Market Grill.

What's up with Ferrari's Italian Villa?

We're kind of planning to go there for lunch next week I went to their website looking for a menu. Current website is really strange and is written mostly in what I assume to be Italian. Has the restaurant changed or just the website?

Perfect Pie Crust Taste Disaster

How much liquid (white sauce?) for tuna casserole using two cans?

I think you all are forgetting how little tuna there is in a can these days. A can of mushroom soup is more like one and a half cups or less. I would think that two cups of white sauce would certainly be ample. That would be for about 6 oz. noodles.

The Perfect Biscuit - what are your secrets to make it happen?

Bleached. That's what I've always used. No particular reason.

The Perfect Biscuit - what are your secrets to make it happen?

Well, I use Gold Medal self rising. I used to use Gold Medal all purpose. My biscuits are better now. Just saying.

The Perfect Biscuit - what are your secrets to make it happen?

The whole point of using self rising flour in biscuits is that all purpose flour is higher in protein than self rising flour of the same brand. This is because they use a softer wheat in the self rising. If you make your own self rising flour, it will have the same protein content as the all purpose.

I just have to add pineapple upside down cake to the list. A half recipe made with an 8 oz. can of sliced pineapple.

The nectar of the Gods, tuna noodle casserole....

I'm SO adding the little jar of pimiento next time. Thanks for suggesting it.

The nectar of the Gods, tuna noodle casserole....

I'm 75 so I probably qualify as a tuna noodle expert. First off you MUST use oil packed tuna. DO NOT drain. You also need to use two cans of tuna for each can of mushroom soup The cans have shrunk since your grandma's day. I use half a 12 oz. bag of wide egg noodles. Right on with the potato chips. Good eats.

How Often Do You Use Recipes?

I so agree with you, Caroline. In fact I've told DH, *If the house catches fire, you grab the dog, and I'll grab the recipes.

Actually every generation brings new things to the food mix. Pizza and tacos weren't eaten in Oklahoma until I was in college. I doubt that my grandmother would recognize many of the foods we eat today.

Was your mom a timid cook?

How to approach baking a lot of cookies?

DC, Relax! The easiest way is to bake, cool, freeze. In that order. I've never noticed a deterioration in quality. If there is, it's very minor. Beats the hell out of buying them at the supermarket.

Freezing cookies

Actually, most cookies are very good frozen. If you want to protect them from your husband, you're going ti have to label them tripe or some such.

Freezing pie crust in dish?

I often freeze the crust for a pecan pie in a pyrex pie plate. You might want to let the plate come to room temperature when you thaw it. I actually prefer pie crust that has been frozen.
