Should I just throw it out?

Haha! Yes, and it was quite delicious!

Should I just throw it out?

I'm still alive. Thank you all :)

Should I just throw it out?

Thanks friends. I knew I could count on you.

Thanksgiving Day meal and your first bite

Mashed rutabaga with turkey gravy, followed by mashed potatoes topped with same. Can't wait! My favorite meal of the year!

Should I just throw it out?

I took a fully frozen chicken out and put it in the fridge to defrost approx. 5 days ago. It was still in the original packaging. I took a look and it doesn't smell funny and it's not slimy. Eat or toss? I'd hate to waste it, but....

Hi, my name is _______ and I'm addicted to ________ .(food only please!)

Hi, my name is diablo and I'm addicted to anything tomato related. Tomato sauce, tomato juice, tomato tomatoes. If it involves tomatoes, I'm in. I've noticed the juice is especially good with some vodka mixed in ;)

Knife & Fork -> Dock’s Oyster House ->>??? is there some place else?

The Ram's Head is consistently top notch. You might also want to consider Chef Vola's

Your disappointing purchases from Costco

Agreed. Not at all.

Recommendations around Smith Mountain Lake State Park? Roanoke? Blue Ridge, VA?

Just bumping this up. Going this coming week and looking for any new suggestions. Thanks!

Breakfast on Long Beach Island

Jason's?

Need Staunton, VA Recommendation

Wright's Dairy Rite in Staunton. Old School, original, can't say enough good things about the onion rings. Service is awesome. Good milkshakes, too.

Breakfast on Long Beach Island

Black Eyed Susan's in Harvey Cedars is good for breakfast. And the Key West Grille in Surf City does nice crepes for breakfast, too. If you are willing to drive to Ship Bottom, the Sandbox Cafe is an adorable outdoor cafe and the food is excellent. Cash only. What ever you do, don't go to Wally Mitchell's. The service is horrible.

Black Jalapenos?

My pleasure! Welcome to Chowhound!

Black Jalapenos?

Oh, Wolfs, this thread is from a couple of years ago and I'm afraid that the neighbor in question actually did die..............but not from my jalapenos, thank goodness. They turned out to be OK. And I really did love the neighbor, just for the record hahaha!

restos in the "Quarter' Tropicana A.C.

I've had good experiences at both Red Square and The Palm. The palm is pretty much a straight up steakhouse, while Red Square is more romantic. Service was excellent at both places. Loved the ice bar at Red Square. I had steak at both places and they were both done to order perfectly. The sides at The Palm were excellent.

Boulevard Clams ~ Surf City

Hmmm. As a local, I will take this review very seriously. No excuse for bad service, and with this economy, I'll take my money elsewhere. Thanks for taking one for the team, Angelina.

Lobster Claw in Surf City

Thanks mschow, Have been hearing better reports on this restaurant after years of "eh...it's ok". I'll have to give it a try, sans cole slaw. Maybe this Friday? Will update :)

NYC hound needs help refining my list of restaurants for LBI next week

I love Bageleddie's for breakfast. They are a little pricey ($1 a bagel), but the bagels are excellent. I just went there last weekend. Cash only. Also, if the Sandbox Cafe in Ship Bottom is open, they are excellent for both breakfast and lunch. It is an outside cafe, though, so watch the weather. They also only take cash, at least last time I was there. Captain John's in Ship Bottom is reliable for breakfast/lunch as well, and usually they have little to no wait---a plus if you are dining with a 1 year old. The Gazebo in Beach Haven is also worth a try for lunch. Lovely view and good service. The Boathouse in Beach haven is excellent for dinner. Have fun!

South Jersey Shore Crab/Seafood House Roundup

Manahawkin.

Pancakes-Best in NJ?

They are really good.....and I like pancakes :)

Favorite Pioneer Woman Recipes

Made her Ranch Chicken tonight. Recipe is on the website. Went over big. Really, you can't go wrong when a recipe involves both bacon and cheese.

Need recommendations for LBI / Manahawkin rehearsal dinner spot

On the island you can try the Surf City Hotel, Buckalew's in Beach Haven, Pinziminio's in Brighton Beach, Bistro 14 in Beach Haven, and The Boat House in Beach Haven. I think the Spray Beach Inn also does rehearsal dinners. Best wishes!

The Search for LBI Homemade Ice Cream

I THINK Barry's Do Me A Flavor Ice Cream in Beach Haven is homemade? I could be wrong, but they are very good nonetheless.

Cheap Eats on Long Beach Island

Lex Mex in Ship Bottom may fit the bill. Also Tiki Taco in Beach Haven. Or the Holiday Snack Bar in Beach Haven. Or the Clam Shack in Beach Haven. You could probably do Panzone's in Beach Haven for that price. Breakfast take out bagels from Bagel Eddie's in Ship Bottom are excellent, but a tad pricey. Scojo's in Surf City is very good for BLD and very inexpensive.

Restaurants and/ or Bars Near Brooklyn Bowl

Due to scheduling conflicts, we were not able to get breakfast this go-round. However, we did go on Friday to get the 6 beers for $20 at the Brooklyn Brewery, which has a great atmosphere. Very crowded, hipster crowd, everyone friendly and laid back. Ate Blue Ribbon the Brooklyn Bowl after that. The best fried chicken I have ever had. And I say this having traveled and lived throughout the South. Get the mix 1/2 chicken dinner. Out of this world good. Collard greens side was also good, mashed potatoes were clearly homemade. Chicken is served atop a hunk of white bread (didn't eat that, but nice touch). The bartenders are excellent. Totally on top of their game (if you will). Really cool venue for a show. One caveat; watch the one female bouncer with the multi-colored hair. She has no qualms about grabbing people by the wrist and barking her orders at them, first for me to get back inside when I happened to wander out with a cup of water "Doesn't matter! NO open containers"! Umm, okay. Water? But okay. Second time when we were leaving for the night due to some kind of ruckus on the street. "Everyone get BACK IN! You don't want to see this"! I understand she's doing her job, but grabbing peaceable people is not okay. Even so, I would go back for the venue and the awesome chicken. Oh yeah, DH had the burger and fries. Watch out, they serve the burger piping hot (good thing in my book--he burned his tongue). The shoestring fries they served on the side were excellent as well as the pickles on the burger.

Greatest Jersey Pizza that most people haven't heard of

Never had Pete's so I can't say.

Greatest Jersey Pizza that most people haven't heard of

Yes on the Kate and Al's. Unique pizza made in a sheet pan. Best enjoyed outside at one of the flea market picnic tables on a nice sunny day.

Awesome! Thank you so much!

Restaurants and/ or Bars Near Brooklyn Bowl

Really anything, but not too upscale. i want to wear jeans. Indian is the only food I'm not that fond of. Also, if you know of anything close for breakfast the next day, that would be ideal........Thanks for replying.
