Opinions on The Lion?

I was there in the spring, and honestly would not recommend it. It was one of the worst and most overpriced meals I have had in NY in a very long time. I had the gnocchi you reference, and it was so overcooked and mushy it was not edible. We also had a soft shell crab appetizer that was deep fried and so heavy, it could have been fried anything. Plus the scene was not cool or comfortable -- it was just pretentious and bad. I think you would have a much better experience at Spotted Pig, Freeman's or even DBGB.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Lunch and Experience Recommendations

Sorry, I just realized I put this in the wrong board. Trying to figure out how to move...

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Lunch and Experience Recommendations

I have reservations for a Sunday lunch at Blue Hill at Stone Barns and am looking for recommendations on how to best enjoy the experience. I have heard it is worth taking the time to explore the grounds/agricultural center and am wondering how much time to dedicate, what to see, etc. Also, what is the best way to dress for an agricultural tour/formal dining experience? Thanks in advance for all of your advice!

Russ & Daughters

I am hosting out of town guests for an Easter brunch and want to serve bagels and smoked salmon. Russ & Daughters is my neighborhood spot, but I have found their salmon to be mediocre at best. Maybe I am ordering the wrong thing? What type of salmon do the R&D regulars recommend? FWIW I think the best smoked salmon in this town is at Agata and Valentina on the UES -- super sweet and mild. I just don't know that I'll have time to get up there before my guests arrive. Thanks all!

Looking for a a small intimate gem on the LES

A Casa Fox--delicious, fresh, home-cooked South American food, reasonable prices, super friendly staff, and a cozy fireplace that is perfect for a cold night like this one.

Where can I get a Gourmandise (chocolate and custard filled croissant) in NYC?

I don't think it's exactly the same thing, but at Falai Panetteria on Clinton Street the chocolate croissants are filled with a chocolate custard rather than the typical chocolate found in pain du chocolat.
