Why there's no Conveyor sushi Restaurant
Let's not kid ourselves about being too smart to "buy into gimmicks". Conveyor sushi is not a typical food trend... it was invented in Japan over 50 years ago and has been a common sight in the country ever since.
It's just another thing to add to a long list of unavailable dining options in this city.
Openings in 2012
im pretty sure its the same place moving across the street. thats what it says on the door
Is there good Japanese in Montreal to compare with New York? Juni has good fish, but the Omikase is questionable
I'm pretty sure that the preference of Quebecers is not sub-par sushi... not this Quebecer, anyway!
Lemeac on Laurier is great after 10pm!
The price used to be $22... still a good deal
Question about Romados
The guys behind the counter are usually not too thrilled with special requests. They mainly just want to keep the line moving (overall a good thing). With prices so low, can't really complain much. Maybe you'll get someone in a better mood next time.
Do NOT order omakase at Jun i
So you got a combination platter at a la carte prices, what a rip-off! In other cities, you pay a set price for omakase and actually get the experience.
Do NOT order omakase at Jun i
As you mentioned, the items were not divisible by 3. Are you sure they charged you for 3 omakases?
5 guys -west island
Yup, this information was already posted in July in the Five Guys thread... actually by me ;)
New Northern joint in Chinatown 2 (long review)
I tried to go yesterday for lunch. Posted sign said they opened at 11 but when I went inside, the guy in the kitchen said he would only be open for supper that night. Not nice to have an incorrect posted schedule, after I paid for parking to eat there.
Indian in Montreal.
Well I'm a little confused by your posts. You said that authentic Indian restos add no sugar or maple but then said that "real Indians" love to do just that. You also first said that Malhi Sweets was just "pretty good" but then raved about it and made it sound better than Tandoor et Grille!
Anyway I am intrigued by your posts all the same... please keep reviewing Indian joints here :)
Indian in Montreal.
Do you have any recent experiences with other Indian restaurants in the city? Have you tried places in Park-ex for instance? Where specifically, and what are your criticisms?
Five Guys Burgers - Coming to Montreal !
Good news for those of us in the West Island, looks like a new store is opening in DDO.. on Sources close to the 40.
Disappointed @ ADPC (and other Montreal resto reviews) - LONG!

why I love dining out in Montreal...some thoughts from an Ontarian Chowhound
Is the parking situation very different in Toronto?
Ooey-gooey Homestyle Cinnamon Buns?
That seems to be the standard price for a cupcake... I think they are $3 at Cocoa Locale
Report: Ramen-ya
I agree whole-heartedly with chiyodamachimontreal. I became a big fan of ramen after visiting Japan a few years ago... when I got back to Montreal, Ramen-ya was the first place I went to and what a disappointment! Didn't taste anything like what I had. Sumo is much better and much more authentic.
Andrew Zimmern in Mtl
Thanks for the heads up! Looks like he is enjoying his time here.
La Caverne - very tasty russian food!
Re: overpriced, is Caverne any cheaper? I haven't seen cheap Russian in this city, may be like that everywhere?
Jack Astor's
What? I don't get it... did you enter their kitchen to fetch yourself water?
Restaurant Closings - 2010
Wow hard to believe this is closed. They'd do lots of dim sum business...
TonkOtsu ramen in Montreal?
This is sadly not a great ramen city, but search for threads on Sumo Ramen and Ramen-Ya.
Moti Mehal report
Yikes, what a dramatic reversal for a resto you called a "gem" only a few months ago.
Red Ginger Delivery
How exactly did he refuse to leave without a tip? Did he demand "where is my tip?" How did you respond? Did he offer an excuse for the late delivery? I'm just trying to picture the scenario and understand why you felt threatened, and if he was really to blame.
Five Guys Burgers - Coming to Montreal !
Wow if I've mapped that correctly, it is all the way up in Vimont. Better than nothing but at least somewhere below the 440, close to the 15 would have been more reasonable. All of these 4 locations are inconvenient for the average Montreal-island suburbanite.
But I guess the less incentive for me to go often, the better :)
Five Guys Burgers - Coming to Montreal !
So we know where the downtown and Brossard location will be, anyone know where they've chosen for Laval?
