Baltimore Baby Shower
My family who lives out of state is hosting my Baby Shower in April here in Baltimore. I am trying to find a place to have it for about 20-40 people. We want to do it on a Saturday around 11 or 1. We dont want a sit down meal but more of finger foods and small plate items (apps). Suggestions?

Just ate there tonight and it was to die for! Everything we had was the best I have EVER had!
Where is a good place Birthday/Graduation party in Bmore?
How is the parking there? Do they have a website. I couldn't find one.
Where is a good place Birthday/Graduation party in Bmore?
I am planning ahead for my 30th Bday and my graduation for my masters. I want somewhere that is very reasonable and along the cheaper side but is good food. I am look at maybe a appetizer/cocktail party or some sort of buffet for about 30 people or so. I will be doing cash bar but would like tea, coffee, soda etc as part of the deal.
Sunday dinner in Baltimore
I agree with both places. Pazo is also good. Another place is Gertrude's at the BMA.
Where are the Region's Best BBQ Ribs?
Corner Stable: The ribs are one of the best I have ever had. The meat fell right off the bone as I tried to pick them up to eat. The sauce was sweet with a bit of tang.
Vin in Towson
Well it was the end of Restaurant Week (summer 2007) and we thought we would try out their dinner for $30.07. VIN features American cuisine with southern European influences. The decor is very modern and is great! Dark browns with brilliant reds! They also have TVs that have a slideshow of very bright flowers and other modern artwork set to a very nice modern classical music.
We checked out the special menu before we went and found some yummy sounding things. However when we got there we where surprised to see they added some more items that sounded just as yummy!
Some people started with the Tomato Soup-Smooth tomato broth & grilled cheese crouton (I didn't try it but they said it was good). I had a added soup of coconut lemon grass broth- it was very good and spicy!
We all had the Hanger Steak-a cut so delicious the butcher kept it for himself, with cheesy mash, grilled asparagus and bleu butter. Now my Hubby said his was tough but mine was melt in your mouth perfect! The cheesy mash was so smooth and ha d a perfect flavor. The asparagus was perfectly cooked with a nice crunch to it still.
For desert we got to pick one of the items off the World's Tiniest Dessert Menu- which each item cam was about 4-5 bites worth of it. I had the Blackberry Créme Brulée- which was perfect all the way around, it wasn't runny or bland! My Hubby had the Chocolate Ganache Cake-Cocoa dusted with a créam chantilly. The other person had the Melted Apple crisp-Cardamom ice cream.
Overall I was impressed. It was great to try the place out during restaurant week because other wise all the entrees around $30 each. You can also park for free at the parking lot across the street from them. They are part of opentable.com
Need Casual Yummy Date Night Place - Bmore
Try Sofi's Crepes or Tapas Teatro and then you can hit the Charles Theater
Crepes?
It is very small but cozy and has 2 tables outside. There was a nice crowd but not over crowded. I loved you were able to sit down and watch your crepe being made
I had the The Kevin Bacon: Turkey, Bacon, Cheese, & Tomatoes with 1000 Island Sauce $8. It was very good and very savory. My friend had the The Godfather: Pepperoni, Mozzarella, Salami, Roasted Red Peppers, & Spinach $8 and she said it was perfect and very good.
I haven't tried the location by the Charles Theater but would like to. I also would love to go back and try some of the sweet crepes!
Jordan's Steakhouse in Ellicott City
Their web-page says it all:
"Experience a steakhouse that doesn't feel like… a steakhouse. No jackets required. Just dress-up your expectations for superb food, and fine wine in a romantic setting."
Andy and I went here for our four year anniversary! Man on man was I impressed! First of all once were seated and opened our menu they pointed out something special- at the top of the first page of the menu is said "Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Lemmo!" Friday, July 13, 2007
This place is top notch- right away they ask you which type of water your want- ice water, spring water or sparkling water! Then once the water come she explains all the specials and his favorite. He was very informative but not over the top annoying!
We started with Grilled Caesar Salad: grilled hearts of romaine lettuce, drizzled with Jordan's Caesar dressing, julienne oven roasted tomatoes, pignoli nuts and Asiago Parmesan $8.00 They actually coat it with a bit of olive oil and grill it for about 10 seconds for this smoky flavor and grill marks! OUT OF THE WORLD!! We split it and it was still nice size and they served it on 2 plates for us!
For dinner we had the one special that was 2 4 oz filet mignon tordaoes with JUMBO lump crab-meat, asparagus, and mashed potatoes topped with a burmese sauce. The serving was HUGE. This thing was melt in your mouth to die for! It was $45 and was less than expected. I wish I coul eat like this every night!
For dessert we had the Creme Brulée. Larger than most you get. When they brought it out they put a candle in it and had this white chocolate sign that said Happy Anniversary.
The Jazz Band started around 7 and was very good. The seating is a bit different. They use a lot of arm chairs and love seats. They tend to be a bit lower then the other chairs but work out. The decor is so romantic with great lamps and candlers. Plus its in historic area to check out all the sights outside!
Egyptian food
I am teaching summer school in the city. Our theme is Ancient Egypt and I would to do a tasting with them. Is there a store that sells premade foods or a restaurant i can do take out? I will pick it up the night before and take in the next day (unless some one delivers to a school on Fort Ave)
