Skate with brown butter and capers at Le Garet (sp?) in Lyon in 1985. Great food and the first time I truly understood a perfect food/wine pairing. Sadly, I didn't pay attention at the time to what wine I was actually drinking!
My current drink of choice:
hot chocolate
I really wish I could:
know myself well and confidently. other than that, travel anywhere and explore by foot and stomach.
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
my spinach/sausage lasagna or our house flank steak
My favorite comfort food:
stuffed artichokes, what else?
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
Bistro Aix/Wine Cellar, Tijuana Flats, wanting to try 13 Gypsies
My most tattered cookbooks:
50 Ways to Cook Most Everything by Andrew Schloss, Desperation Dinners (seeing a trend here?), Pleasures of the Good Earth by Edward Giobbi, Feasts for All Seasons by Roy Andries de Groot
