My partner is from San Antonio and says any carne asada taco he's had in Phoenix "is not a real carne asada taco." Well, this makes me crazy, cuz I tell him he lives in Phoenix and I'm sure they're many different styles of carne asada. I have to admit, however, after having had San Antonio carne asada tacos, that, indeed they are tastier. There is a "gravy" not found here in Phoenix. Or is there? Any ideas where to find this style here in the valley!!!!???? Thanks Chowhounders! |

I miss the breakfast pastas from Hugo's in West Hollywood where I managed for 8 years. Fresh pasta, tossed in along with olive oil, garlic, a few eggs, Jodi Maroni sausage, bacon, scallions, mushrooms and parmesan cheese. SINFUL!!! And not a bad way to nurse a hangover. There are, of course, other varieties to make. Anything like that in Phoenix??? Hmmm...if no, that just me be the launching concept to my new restaurant. Along with pumpkin pancakes, a spicy huevos chipotles soup and freshly squeezed vegetable and fruit juices..... |
