Help Needed...Portland and area for 5 days

Hello Chowhounds. Well we have made it back to Toronto after a couple of really terrific days in Portland. Thank you all for your kind suggestions. They all worked out. We had rain 3.5 of the 4 days but that didnt stop us. Portland sure punches above it's weight! Of particular note was Standard Bakery (we ate their all 4 mornings! Croissants to die for), Bite into Maine food truck (best lobster roll ever, and this is from a guy who grew up in Nova Scotia), Portland Museum of Art, Hot Suppa ( amazing chicken and waffles and the best mac cheese and grits), and some great vintage shopping for our teenage daughters. Eventide and Honey Paw were good as well, just way to crazy busy. We will definitely be back....missing it already.

Excellent suggestions. Toronto has a very vibrant asian scene so will look into these. Great tip on the outlets.
Any museums/whale watching you would reccomend or are they too touristy?

Korean BBQ for Saturday

I will try KGH next time. We went to Chako and was very underwhelmed.

Korean BBQ for Saturday

Any ideas?

Worst in Toronto

Chippy's....My Wife and I travel frequently, we alsays use this "hole in the wall" as a laugh track to Hipster crapolla to our friends in other cities. Way too loud music, shitty service and attitude in the stratosphere. This place belongs as a joke in the Onion or worse. And yes, I do have a beard :)

Korean BBQ for Saturday

Chako? Korean BBQ Grill Chain? Really struggling here.

Korean BBQ for Saturday

Hi there: I am taking out 6 people for dinner on Saturday in the Markham area and want to do Korean BBQ (cook your own). Any suggestions? 4 out of the 6 are younger teenagers but all are open minded. I have looked at the previous posts but most are 2-4 years old. Thanks

Danforth for Sunday Night

Got the last 5 places at 530pm at -30 degrees? Wow those people love their pizza. Had a great time and the kids loved the pizza! Thanks all !

Danforth for Sunday Night

Danforth for Sunday Night

Danforth for Sunday Night

Taking the teens to a concert Sunday night at Danforth Music Hall and I need a walking distance greek restaurant. Mezes, Messini, Avli, and Pan on the Danforth all look ok. Thoughts on these? Any other recs? Thanks much!

Ramen in GTA East

Is there really no options in Durham? We now have passable Pho...no Ramen?

Ramen in GTA East

Robber no match for the owner of Barberians this morning...

Now if someone could identify the lady who stole his cellphone on the street that would be a Christmas present !!!

"East Coast" Style Donairs in Toronto?

East Coast Donairs in Oshawa is excellent! They make them Halifax style although they are from New Brunswick. Great service as well.

Whitby/Durham restaurants that don't suck

Yes that is the location. I was told the place just opened. Maybe I was mistaken? Anyways, thought it was great. Tried 999 about a year ago and found the place a little dirty when I was there. Maybe I'll pop in again.

Whitby/Durham restaurants that don't suck

Just had my 2nd lunch at Pho Metro in Whitby. Everything is made in house. Best Pho in Durham hands down, great sides and amazing rolls. Nice atmosphere, pleasant service. This is their 2nd location. Their first location has been commented on many times by fellow chowhounders.
Finally a good option close to home!

ISO Pandan Leaves

Thank you.....Suggestions on this dish?

Anyone know where I can find these leaves in Scarborough/Durham?
Making a Sri Lankan dish that emphasizes the need for this. Any suggested alternatives?

Atlantic Tastes in Toronto

I have spent most of my summer going back and forth from Toronto to New England and have been eating a lot of steamer clams and fried whole clams. I cant seem to find fresh versions in restaurants in Toronto. Any suggestions? I am obviously not looking in the wrong places.

Whitby/Durham restaurants that don't suck

Yes it is out back. The way they designed it, you feel like you are in someones backyard, not in a parking lot. They also have some heaters and lounge seating as well.
