Jerusalem must-eats?

While in Jerusalem, I highly recommend checking out Kadosh (french cafe in town, dairy), Al dente (dairy fresh pasta in Nachlaot/Shaarei Chessed area), Pappagio (an insane all you can eat meat experience in Talpiot), and a fish and chips place in machane yehuda (the name escapes me, but it's in the open air portion of the shuk). There are plenty more places but that's just a sampling.

Kosher fast food chains in Israel

Burger King and KFC on Ben Yehuda are closed. The McDonalds on Emek Refaim and other parts of Jerusalem are Treif. While I have not been there recently, there might still be a Kosher KFC and Pizza Hut in the mall in Jerusalem. Also, while I have not been there recently, there was a kosher McDonalds and KFC in the Mevaseret Mall. I am pretty sure the kosher McDonalds closed in the airport, but I was told there is now a kosher Pizza Hut in its place.

Kosher After Theatre?

There's La Marais on West 46th which I believe (may want to call and double check) is open until midnight or later. While it is a steakhouse, you can order appetizers and desserts for your "lighter fare." They have a well diverse drink menu.
Otherwise, Tiberias on East 34th is dairy and open 24/6.

Bad experience at Estihana (Manhattan)

You forgot the part where they automatically added a17% tip to the bill for our party of 5. At no point during the three hour ordeal did any waiter manager come over to apologize for the delay or offer to compensate us in anyway for our patience. That visit was definitely my last visit to Estihana

Dates this weekend - UWS Manhattan

If the weather is pleasant on Sunday, pick up some bagels or wraps for brunch from either Bagel Basket or Bagels and Co. for a picnic brunch in Central Park. NoiDue and Mike's Pizzeria can be fun Saturday night date places however, call to see if they are open on Saturday night and be aware as being that neither take reservations there can be a long wait. Otherwise checkout 16 Handles or Rita's Ice for a fun Saturday night activity.

Pesach in Jerusalem

While you are in Jerusalem, if you do not eat Kitniot be careful as a good portion of the restuarants are. Check out Eluna.com which will tell you which restuarants are open over Chol Hamoed and which ones serve Kitniot.

Best place for breakfast in Jerusalem

Tal Bagel on Emek Refaim has a good breakfast (bagels, salads, coffee, eggs). You can get a fairly large breakfast for fairly reasonable price.

Best Restaurants in Jerusalem

Ticho House on Rechov HaRav Kook (right near the center of town) is a great dairy resturant. Has food for all age groups and a great ambiance (old house and beautiful garden and quiet even though so close to Rechov Yaffo). Japanica is also a great option (near the center of town). There is a BaBa in Talpiot and one on Emek Refaim which has real Israeli food along with amazing Chumus plates.
Also, register at eluna for various coupons to all different types of restuarants all over Israel. You can get anywhere from 10-15% off almost every resturant in Jerusalem, just give them the coupon when you get the bill.
Happy eating!
