Try the Brownstone Diner on 426 Jersey Ave in Jersey City. Was featured on diners, drive ins and dives on Food Network. I've eaten breakfast there including the pancakes, waffles, and french toast. All great with large portions of each. Check out their website at www.brownstonediner.com/

Real Mexican Food In New Jersey
I'm sure this has been posted before but I'm actually looking for some authentic mexican food in New Jersey for my brother and his family. The recently moved back to New Jersey from California and haven't been able to find anything close to what they had there. Any suggestions. All areas of New Jersey would be okay. But if anyone knows of any in the Morristonw area that would be of help.
Best Chinese take-out in West Orange, NJ?
Good Choice...another is Bill and Harry's further down Pleasant Valley way going towards verona....about 3/4 mile past East Garden going towards Route 280. They have some interesting dishes. Don't have a complaint about either of the two.

Libretti's in Orange would also work...in the price range you are looking for and does have private dining areas also....Have never ever had a bad meal there

any comments about the FRANK PEPE's chains?
okay....I've been to three out of the four locations...the orginal is still the best, if you don't want to wait in line...then the spot is your choice...I've been to fairfield and find it, in my experience to be pretty close to the orignal....have heard others not have that experience but I can only go by what has happened when I went there....atmosphere..well similar in fairfield...little more open....doesn't exactly have the feel of the original in New Haven....guess you have to decide for yourself...my vote...the original in New Haven...I drive 2 hours to get there...and always get an extra pie for the next day....
Central Morristown, NJ
better diner is the denville diner and even closer to morristown...think it exceeds either the whippany or randolph diners and you also have arthurs tavern in morris plains....

Hickory Hog BBQ
will do...there was some many things that looked good on the menu....had heard the steak tips were good...so first time out tried to go with the recommendations...liked the look of the cowboy ribeye...but will be going back soon so will try some more of the items on the menu....nice to have a casual place around....
Hickory Hog BBQ
Had lunch there today....I think its worth the trip....I had the bbq beef tips, sweet potato fries, and the garlic string beans...A good choice....beef was tender and just enough bbq sauce to add to the flavor....great sweet potato fries...and the string beans were fresh and equally delicious. My daughter had the 16oz BBQ Cowboy Ribeye, French Fries, and a side salad...The Ribeye was perfect...tender, juicy, and again the right amount of BBQ sauce. Mom had the Hickory Burger and said it was one of the better ones she's had.
All in all, I'd say this is an pretty good place for BBQ.....will try some of the other offerings the next time I visit...Menu is pretty extensive and the prices aren't that bad...Good value, Great Meal....

What's the furthest you've travelled - just for a meal
Having the ability to travel anywhere certainly helps in the exploration of food treasures. Bringing those foods to others also enriches the experience. To see the smiles and receive the thanks makes the effort all the more rewarding. I've found that the travel to find some of your favorites offers memories that last a lifetime. One that I have planned in the near future are a roadtrip to Maine for freshly caught lobster right from the dock. Just completed a travel to the Miami area for stone crabs, well worth the travel. My thought has always been that there is no place to far to travel for your favorite foods. Most of the travels that I have experienced were driving to these locations to really add to the experience the trip getting there.
